I Watched 1st half against Burnley ,and Burnley were quite comfortable till the penalty.Thought it was a blatant dive but turns out his foot was clipped. One bad result and it could all change. Its 5 pts with 87pts Still up for grabs. It May well come down to the head to heads it’s basically a 12 pt swing and will be crucial.

Not sure where else to put this, but we've now got more points from 9 games than we've ever had before in the Premier League.

Curse of Wembley etc.
Are you 100% on this.Amazing I’ve not heard Once it’s our best ever start to a season.Sky would be trotting this out every hour if it was man united or Liverpool.

Everything is about money my man I am a special guardian to a 10 and 8 yr old brother and sister and apparently according to the government they had name changes to pound sign one and pound sign 2 if kids lives are just about cash football has no chance of ever changing now hahaha

And joking aside I really believe that's a big part of our unpopularity we make the money only matters clubs look fecking silly.

This was the time last season when toby and kane were injured and we went on that horrible run of draws in the league and losses in the cups

This weekend will see one or both of us drop points when we go to Utd so should be good from a city perspective.
Even at this early stage it looks as if us and Utd will be city's main rivals this year and although I can't see them fucking it up,We could consolidate second again which is no mean feat considering the factor of playing at Wembley.

With all due respect, fuck that. I’m done with moral victories. Let’s win this thing. There is no reason why we can’t. City are a great team but they aren’t invincible.

No team is invincible but they have been at it from pre season looking sharp and ready and are currently playing some superb stuff.
Before the season kicked off I didn't think we would make top four this time due to the stadium situation, but even at this early stage it looks like we could well finish in it which when everything is factored in is a fucking good achievement.

You say that, but the media are already creaming themselves over City and more or less handed the title to them. Remember Leicester? Everyone rolled over and the officiating was bent as feck!! The closer we got the worse it got, it'll be a case of rinse and repeat with City this season. Imo.

I really don’t think so this time. Leicester was a once in a generation fairy tale story that everybody from opposing players to the entire media wanted to see completed. City just aren’t the same thing. They won’t see the same support Leicester did that season. Nobody wants to watch a fake oil money club buy yet another title. If it comes down to us and City in the second half of the season I think we’ll actually be the ones receiving most of the support. Outside of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool fans nobody is supporting City in that scenario. Everybody else would be pulling for us. There would be no rolling over for City like there was for Leicester.

City are beating teams the same way Chelsea did last season - before a ball is kicked.

We could and often do, do that but we can't stop City scaring the bejeezus out of their opponents. We can't educate them how to grow some bollocks and play them rather than just try to keep the score down.
What we need is to play them at white Hart lane asap. Get them now, beat them, show the others the way to do it and crack on.

That wasn't a mistake. Can we get some grass and some beer at the lane? I'd put trust in us doing them there.

I did say the media and you can lump in the football 'authorities', for want of a better word, only genuine football fans would want to see us win over City.

This made me think

I wonder if teams put more effort in as the season takes shape and their respective 'league stories' start to develop.

By that I mean as the season goes on, each team knows what they're playing for; avoiding relegation, trying to get into Europa, trying to get into CL or perhaps challenge for the title.

Early in the season I would imagine there are clubs that are happy to finish mid-table, who find themselves in a relegation battle or clubs who are actually doing a lot better than they imagined. At that point they focus their minds more, get increased motivation and battle for every point.

Where this relates to City is that in the first 9 or 10 games there are probably lots of clubs who look at City and don't worry about getting points from them. Sure, they'll defend deep and hope to nick a point, but they're not bothered either way; it's a free game and they're just trying to keep the score down.

But as the season goes on, this attitude changes because it has to. If you're a club that's fighting relegation or perhaps challenging for Europe, then you absolutely must have a go at City. You can't lose the points.

This may be why clubs like City come out of the traps flying, but then drop in form. A third of the way through the season they start to meet stiff opposition that they're not used to and they get disillusioned.

Who knows? Even if I'm right with this, City could still have the mental strength to overcome this hurdle. We'll just have to see, but I do think Spurs is a mentally tougher team than City, because of what we've been through over the last few years.

It took poch a couple of seasons to get used to the fact that we don't have a winter break. Hopefully pep has the same trouble.
It's a marathon not a sprint. They have a fantastic squad but you have to adjust your training to cope with a gruelling fixture list.

Yes. The last four games, last season we got 5 points and we got 4 points from the next 3 games. This season, so far we have got 12 points from the last 4 games, so we are already ahead of the points for the 7 games of last year's bad run. Anything now from the games against ManU, Palace and A***nal will be a bonus over last year.

Hope that makes sense!

but we all know for sure if we were to finish 2nd again it will be due to yet another slow start:whistle: and it's all Wembley's fault:cry:

Another point I hadn’t considered until now. We consider this City team one which has been there and won things. However of the current squad only Kompany, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva and Aguero were at the club the last time they won the league. In fact they’ve won a single league cup in the last 3 seasons. This is a group which hasn’t yet made that final step together and conversely, come the end of the season, our team may actually be the better equipped to deal with the pressure of a title race having been in the mix the past two seasons.

Come the end of the season there'll still be people on here talking about our "poor start" costing us the title...
