Hold your heads up Yids... we will be back again next year.

What I really can't wait for is a full season with Ramos.... the potential is unbelievable... there will be more tears of joy than tears of failure in the next 3 years.

I hope the players doesn't share that Proud-thingy. If they do there's no chance of improvement.

Say's it all really if we're stuck with beeing proud when we're kicked out when the fun begins and the quality-teams are through to the next round.

We must aim higher and i really hope that Ramos will add some experince to the side next season since that will improve our game and our younger/talented players.

Does this mean i hate anyone or say that we're shite?? No! :)

Keep feeling we were the best team in these last 2 UEFA Cups. We were better than Sevilla. And last night we were better than PSV. Fully expect them to go on and win the UEFA Cup.

Next year is a must win UEFA Cup. It will be our last for a long while ......................... ...................................... ............. ........ we'll be busy trying to win the Champions League from then on.

Jenas' penalty look a good and solid strike. You've got to hand it to Gomez, it was a great save, especially so on top of the many excellent saves he made during the match. Their hero on the night.

Can't say much about Chimbonda's attempt but a child has a 50/50 chance of scoring a penalty if it's on target; sending it wide shows a lack of something.

Actually I'd have to go on the pesimistic side for this one.Pretty much all our decent chances came from mistakes by their defenders. We made only one mistake in the first leg and paid for it.They made several today and no one scored.Wtf was that pass from Bent to Keano. If you can't pass just shoot ffs.I thought we should've started the game with 3 at the back and 3 up front and just score 2 goals.1-2 would've been enough.

I'd liked to have seen us starting Lennon and going 3 up front if that was not enough .

Initial line up too conservative from Ramos .

Definetly proud. We won the match. They are a top team and beat Arsenal in the CL last season.
Penalties are a lottery- it was bad luck.
we are are a match for anyone- now need to concentrate on performing consistently.

I commented on that attempt of Bents to Keano it was indeed embarrassing. Can't say i'd have started with three at the back last thing you want is it concede an early goal. But having said that didn't they play 4-5-1 again? if so, then 3 at the back would have been a better proposition to start with.

Great determination in the match; defence and pressing the ball were superb though we weren't clinical enough and on another night could have put the tie to bed before penalties.

Was so sure JJ would have slotted it away, but it wasn't to be.

GL to PSV and consolations to everyone else.

Let's enjoy the remaining games and look forward to next season: COYS!

First of all, penalties are not a lottery. There are reasons why England always lose on penalties and Germany always win. It's not luck, it's holding your nerve. Obviously, there is an element of luck with penalties, but there's an element of luck in all aspects of football. I'm not slating Jenas, but the reason he missed isn't bad luck, it's because he took a bad penalty. If you have the skill to hit the ball low and hard into the corner, it doesn't get saved.

Second of all, I hope this stops some of the assumptions that we were the best team in the UEFA Cup and that we were somehow destined to win it. We are a very good team, but there are a lot of very good teams in the UEFA Cup. We were quite lucky to scrape through against Prague, and we were lucky that it was only 1-0 to PSV at WHL. We were the better team last night and really dominated, but we didn't create that many clear-cut chances. We had a few, but so did PSV. I'm not slagging us off - when we're at our best, with Keane and Berbatov playing brilliantly, with Lennon and Malbranque pacy and inventive on the wings, with Jenas dominating midfield, then yes, we can beat anyone. But when our top players aren't firing on all cylinders, we don't have too many other players who can step into the breach. We're a very good team, but the UEFA Cup was never ours to lose.

Proud? Definatly.
Gutted? OH MY GOD yes, i really am gutted.

I got the feeling early in the game it would take some magic like Berbies volley to get us our goal, and truth is we did enough to win the game i think....god knows we had chances and good build up play.

Mixed feelings for me. Proud of the effort that the team put in to beat PSV and how well-organised we were, but... tactically we were cagey as fuck last night. What happened to a compact midfield with two wingers? What happened to 'to dare is to do?' We needed to go out there and beat the other team... 2-1 or 3-2 would have been better than 1-0 and I really expected our lineup to reflect that from the off.

Ramos put out a team to keep us in the tie for as long as possible, and in doing so put the result above the football. This isn't a major criticism. I can understand why he would do that. Get the result right first and worry about the football later. Problem is, when you do that and then don't get the result, no matter how close you come you're hoist by your own petard.

Sad to say, Ramos got this one wrong. And I'd have been prouder if we'd gone out in a blaze of glory and goals.

the took better pens than us - but never forget we won the UEFA cup on pens in 84 -and most of our players were emglish then

I think 90% of the time Jenas would of scored with the exact same penelty, fantastic save. I feel proud. They had 3 days extra rest, they took penaltys first, all big advantages. Yet we beat them, and nearly went thro. I for one am proud.

Oh and we were cagey mostl due to their defencive play

yep COYS :) of course we were cagey we're playing against a good CL team here - who caught us napping at the Lane - we were the team who played most of the good football last night - but had we gone completely gung ho almost for sure they would have scored and game over-

also they hadn't played on sunday we had - it was a hell of a tribute to our fitness levels that we matched them on their patch in extra time

In the same way as our Carling Cup win was an atypical Spurs performance (coming back from a goal down, being awarded a penalty, holding out at the end etc), last night was very atypical too but with the wrong result.

I applaud Ramos for responding to each scenario within the game with his tactical changes and subs. It's a shame it didn't pay off against a very organised PSV team that were too scared to come out and play us at their own stadium.

On another night we win that game 2 - 1 in normal time and go through, based on the clear chances each side had.

Just wasn't to be. I'm gutted (and hungover) but proud, yes.

We needed two goals to win. If they'd scored, we'd still have needed two goals to win. How's that game over?

Many of our first teamers have tasted glory for the first time, and now tasted heartbreak, it is a fantastic learning curb for everyone, most of all for us the suporters.

Never a truer word spoken. The experience is invaluable and necessary. Salient point, my friend.

We did win the game. It was not winning at WHL that let us down.

I hate penalty deciders and would much prefer the golden goal option.

I was (am) gutted of course but we have next season's UEFA and never forget that we have some silverware this season. We'll have some good new signings to bolster the team and next season things will improve even more.

Our defence is much stronger than it was and the team is beginning to meld into something special. The addition of Woody, particularly, is proving to be a brilliant buy.

Yes, overall I am proud of the lads and even more so of Ramos and Poyet for doing such a great job in such a short time.

No, we were the 2nd best team in the UEFA cup. Bayern are the best and thats why they're the bookies favourites to win it. We had a good opportunity though.
