My brother keeps saying that United have been unlucky with injuries and off field issues etc etc.

It's a part truth.

But ultimately you can't get away with this stat.

That is purely down to coaching and the system Ten Hag is using.

I've never really been concerned about United.

The only reason they kept getting within 3 points or so of us is because we had a tough run the same time they had a kinder run.

It's balancing out now though as I think we are at least 12 pts better than them.

Chelsea is running away with the table...

not sure what it says with us at the bottom... we just didn't have the luck with the decisions this season.

Che vs MU showed how "soft" some calls are, not a "clear and obvious error", call on the pitch stands.

Chelsea’s first goal against us in the 1-4 was a penalty by Palmer after Romero was sent off. Udogie got a 2nd yellow as well as you may remember.

It’s incredible they have received ten more penalties than us. But they’ve still scored eleven goals fewer.

Liverpool and Arsenal have also received seven more penalties than us which accounts for a large portion of their superior goals tally this season.

It just underlines how well we have done to replace Kane’s goals.

Remarkable how many United fans seem convinced the referee took the game from them, like it was David Coote's fault that no one marked Chelsea's only good player from a corner in the last minute. If you invite that much pressure, you're going to have more chances for shots and decisions to go against you - this is basic.

Just saw the highlights of Che vs ManU. Good lord, what a glorious mess of a game. Ten Hag is almost certainly out now, even though those margins are so fine. Great advert for the league, you need a bit of entertaining chaos at times.

I've found our games to be so turgid lately. We've not had a stonking win or barnstormer like this for a while. Although we did smash villa at their place. Hopefully things will pick up as we run in to the higher placed sides that will be living on nerves to some extent.

I don't think there is any team in the League playing sensational football at this time of the season. Even Liverpool haven't been great lately but have been getting results. It would be nice if we could just step it up against Forest and take that form forward to the end.

I said I thought Palmer would be the difference maker. He's pretty much single handedly keeping Poch in a job.

According to the Beeb.

The usefulness of Palmer.....

Here's where Palmer has rescued Chelsea:

  • One in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal (+1 point)
  • One in a 4-4 draw against Man City (+1 point)
  • Two in a 3-2 win at Luton (+3 points)
  • One in a 1-0 win against Fulham (+3 points)
  • One in a 3-2 win against Newcastle (+2 points)
  • One in a 2-2 draw against Burnley (+1 point)
  • Three in a 4-3 win against Man Utd (+3 points)
Total points gained directly from his goals: 14

Deceptive stats making it look like he was decisive in scoring the final goals in those matches to clinch the points.

- Arsenal match he scored the first goal and it was a pen.
- man city match he scored the equaliser last minute, it was a penalty.
- luton he scored the first two goals. They were for once not pens.
- fulham he scored the only goal and guess what guys… it was a penalty.
- newcastle match he scored to put chelsea 2-1 up.
-Against burnley he scored both goals and one was a penalty.
- against man utd he had a hattrick, two as penalties and one super deflected goal.

I have nothing against the kid, i want to see where he goes but the comments about how special he is are waaay too OTT and painting him to be something he really isnt atm imo. One thing i will emphasise again is that he has outstanding temperament, but lets see if he can sustain that over a number of years.
