I think there's a fair chance (sadly) that they win it. They are rolling teams over for fun right now even if some of the opposition have been dire, Liverpool are admittedly grinding out wins but with the luck of the seven blind bastards. They aren't convincing right now and I have a weird feeling in my gooch (which isn't that kind of itch) that City, as awesome as they can be, are capable of dropping points out of the blue (moon). It wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if Arsenal went to City and won. One thing is for sure, it's going to be fucking close.

Roll on the disagrees :D
Regardless how any of us feel at the thought of Arsenal potentially winning the title I don't think you ought to be getting disagrees with this statement that you have made, the facts are as clear as day that this title race is going to be close.

Arsenal are in superb form and are a force to be reckoned with. They're a well oiled machine now and easily keeping the pace with City.

We're a long way off the levels of the top three. It's a shame because we were doing well to battle back into it after the Chelsea debacle and fall out. But the real sorting happens in Feb and March and we've drifted a bit. We lost focus, lost discipline, and lost some ridiculous fixtures.

We're much better off than last season, but the gap above isn't closing much.

Never sure how they work out PSR as you can allow for youth development etc but what stands out is the wage/revenue ratio , total revenue £217.7 million , wage bill £194.2 million , that's for everyone at the club not just the 1st team squad, that is around 90% of revenue, is that sustainable ?

No, it isn't. A sustainable level is 40-50% in any business

Piecing together different snippets online from the likes of Swiss Ramble and Spotrac, their wage bill is £10m higher than ours and yet their turnover is only about 50% of ours. Their wage bill is the 6th highest in the league which screams that they’re spending Champions League money in advance. No idea how they can invest further in the squad this summer without breaching PSR/FFP but they seem pretty bullish.

I had a look on Villatalk, they were spouting on about it being part of a bigger plan, and they will grow...

No rationale behind how they are going to do that.

I think a few clubs just followed Chelsea's spending last Summer, and they are all going to be in the same boat if they miss the CL spots. I think it caught a lot by surprise when Everton actually got charged and hit with a points deduction and that is why January was so quiet.

They've recently shelved plans to complete rebuild their north stand and increasing both hospitality and overall capacity.

They desperately need to increase their revenue

Does depend on the source , Capology says just £1 million difference in 1st team wage bill between the clubs. Spurs accounts are due out before the end of the month but going by recent Deloitte money league figures and they are the ones that audit Spurs accounts, the total wage bill at Spurs is now £248 million . Deloitte have revenue for Spurs at £530 million with wages at 46% hence £248 million.
See how accurate that is when the accounts are published.

Be interesting as a lot of our big wages are now off the books (Kane, Lloris, Dier)

Would love to see how much it would take for them to even consider an offer for Watkins

Getting into Everton territory with that 90%. It could be said that Champ Lge money will dramatically boost their revenue. Well it will but not for the next years figures. Those published are up to June 2023. The next will be June 2024 which will not include CL money.
Looked at 21/22 figures when they made a profit of 400k. They spent over 200m on players which was offset by Grealish 100m.
20/21 lost 40m

Watkins is 28 gone December so I think 80m would get him. Liverpool sell Salah in the summer for a big fee, they might consider him. Don’t think we would.

The goalkeepers for Sheffield United and Burnley are two of the worst I've seen at this level. They look so out of their depth. Luton's keeper has saved them points and that's worth its weight in gold.

Honestly think James Trafford will go on to have a very good career at a Premier League level club. I don't think he's the problem at all.

You could put Vicario in goal at either of those clubs and he'll still concede a lot of goals. The problem is they both have Championship level players in nearly every single outfield position. I think Sheff United will struggle in the Championship with that squad.

One of sheff utds issues is they transfer listed Fothringham (spelling) but then the other keeper got injured so we’re having play a keeper that knew the club didn’t want him and wanted out himself. Not ideal
