I thought Arsenal not getting a red was proof of corruption according to posts in here.

Guessing the corruption isn’t there.

I mean you’ll have to ask the people who posted calling it corruption for an answer on that.

I think Corruption has maybe become the buzz word people now seem to throw around when they don’t like a decision, to me it’s more just incompetence and poor officials.

Nah. They kept on with the backchat long after the challenge. One gets a yellow and another steps in to get one for the same offence. It’s a lack of discipline. If it was our players I’d be furious with them.
This is where the law is stupid you need to be able to voice youre grievances in a healthy respectful manner. What did Gordon do to deserve a yellow card?

The Havertz one was debatable but I have no idea how Guimaraes is still on the pitch. If that's not violent conduct, what is? He obviously knew what he was doing and meant to do it.

Pretty shit first half to be honest.

I still don't see anything special in Newcastle team. I think Arsenal have been the better team. Would like to see some red cards second half.

Will end 0-0 I reckon with it turning into more of a foul fest than a football match.

Would take that 100%

i thought there was supposed to be a crack down on time wasting this season, eg blocking free kicks. So why didnt Havertz get a second yellow there at the end?

There was a lot of talk of not showing the slo-mo replay with VAR review after Jones red for the Bissouma challenge.

The Havertz challenge (and Nketiah against Vicario) is worse live because you can see that they are coming in full speed, thus increasing the injury risk. Both red cards IMO.

Guimaeres wasn't sent off because it was only a forearm smash and not an elbow according to VAR.

I find “reckless not dangerous” a really odd turn of phrase to describe a tackle.

Agreed - the definition of the word reckless is (of a person or their actions) without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action.

Tbf it's not the VAR. That kind of tackle has slowly and consistently become a yellow over the last decade across the world. Ten years ago it checks all the boxes for serious foul play but for whatever reason the powers that be have that in the yellow range now.
It used to be one of the simpler decisions for refs. Two footed out of control = reckless AND dangerous
