All that's needed is for Fulham to beat Chelsea and it will have been a decent weekend

  1. Top 6 separated by just 3 points
  2. 6th placed Brighton have scored the most goals.
  3. Spurs & Arsenal the unbeaten sides at present

Even though City just lost their first points today, all this talk of City running away with title is nonsense.
Long way to go in this PL season.

As for as us, we are clearly on track for a CL finish and probably 2nd or 3rd.
But key is Maddison, Son, VDV , Romero to stay fit and hope we bring 2 or 3 in Jan

Thanks MotD for focussing purely on the disallowed goal and the two (correct) reds and nothing on in the patterns of play and our application against a tough opponent- particularly in the first half.

Jokers…

I think we have done brilliantly with a tough start, Brentford were awesome at home last season and 2 of our 3 home games so far have been vs the only 2 teams that we hadn't beaten at the new ground until this season.

That been said, it's only 7 games, which can pretty much just be good or bad form in a season, so really don't think the table is a good indicator for who is challenging where until we are around the mid to late 20s of games played.

At this stage, just enjoy the ride and see where it takes us.

Burnley not taking that reversal offer keeps looking like a misstep. In horrid form recently. Granted their schedule’s been really rough but going to Luton coming off their first ever PL win after picking up their first ever last week could be a tricky one for them. They’d have been better off taking that home game, IMO.

Glad we're not next up after they won. The ground should be rocking on Tuesday you'd think. Then we can bring them down to earth on Saturday lunchtime as we go top before everyone else plays again.

Didn't know they were offered a reversal, that is so dumb given their fixture list. Their first 5 home games were City, Villa, Spurs, United and next up Chelsea. How do you look at those home games before the season starts and say no to playing Luton at home?

Our fixtures were seen as hard prior to start of PL. We played 2 most inform teams in PL other than City. Brentford away isnt easy. So isnt a home fixture vs United

You look at who City has played till now - Burnley, Fulham, Forest, Sheffield, WestHam , Newcastle and Wolves. They got the arguably easiest first 7 fixtures.

IMO, Goal difference is a good indicator midseason which shows our level.

Next 5 rounds of PL

Spurs :
Luton (A) Fulham(H) Palace (A) Chelsea (H) Wolves (A)

City :
Arsenal (A) Brighton (H) United (A) Bournemouth (H) Chelsea (A)
In between, they also play Leipzig(A), YoungBoys (A),YoungBoys (H) in CL

Arsenal :
City (H) Chelsea (A) Sheffield (H) Newcastle (A) Burnley (H)
Lens (A) Seville(A) Seville (H) in CL
WestHam (A) in EFL

Liverpool :

Brighton(A) Everton (H) Forest (H) Luton (A) Brentford (H)
Union Saint (H) , Toulouse (A), Toulouse (H) in EL
Bournemouth (A) in EFL

Villa

Wolves (A) WestHam (H) Luton (H) Forest (A) Fulham (H)
And 3 conference league fixtures

Brighton
Liverpool (H) City (A) Fulham (H) Everton (A) Sheffield (H)
Marseilles (A) Ajax (H) Ajax (A) in EL

Newcastle
WestHam(A) Palace (H) Wolves (A) Arsenal (H) Bournemouth (A)
PSG(H) Dortmund(H) Dortmund (A) in CL
United (A) in EFL

However we look at it, we have one of the easiest fixture run in next 5 rounds. Probably Liverpool with more jammy fixtures but with some EL games in between. Villa too look to have a decent run

Brighton Newcastle City all have some tough tough fixtures.

Can anyone explain why we are playing Fulham on the 23rd and then Palace only four days later?!
TV picks innit. Playing a Monday one round and a Friday the next shouldn't be allowed but there are no restrictions there.

It seems like the most obvious thing they can put in place with VAR to address what happened yesterday is to include a confirmation of the decision instead of just saying "check complete". If they'd said "check complete - onside" there would've been no confusion (or there would, in the short term, but they would've ironed it out before play was restarted).

I said this as soon as the times were announced. It’s annoying as it takes away our advantage of not being in Europe/League cup! But not different to playing Sat/Wed or Sun/Thur.
