I know this is all in jest and stuff but I feel for Poch a bit. I'm sure he, more than anyone, wants to be fluent with his english but it can't be easy and is especially hard for some people than it is for others to learn a new language.

Not being funny but us English speakers have it pretty easy. We can go to any country on the planet and can get away with speaking our native tongue. I'd like to see how stupid most of us would sound to an Argentinian person if we were trying to do an interview in spanish!

That's not our fault. We won the language war.

I thought this until I found myself lost in central Beijing once and couldn't find a soul who spoke English. Terrifying.

I hear what you are saying Jonny , but then again we are not giving weekly talks to thousands as part of a very highly paid job.
He's also been in the UK some time has Poch . If he is grafting with English lessons, then you'd expect some signs of improvement by now .

I hear ya and don't disagree. I personally think I can hear improvement in his english and I'd like to think he will continue to get better.

I bet if you look back at his first ever interview as Spurs boss (on Spurs TV) you'll hear a marked difference between then and now.

I just dont wanna take the piss out of him and feel sorry for the guy when others do. Maybe I'm just a big wet back in that regard but can't help it.

IMO, he sounds no different from when he was at the Saints.:

Our English players don't seem to have any trouble understanding him, nor did his Southampton players.

A lot of people seem to have a problem when a foreign manager mentions a philosophy but it's the same as an English manager saying he has a plan or uses certain tactics. Maybe people just won't be happy until Poch has a cockney accent and dribbles jellied eel juice down his chin during 10 minute rants about the state of English youth teams.

Maybe with the use of the word "triffic", or the double-use of the word "top".
