He was better second half granted. But those who think he's some massive upgrade to our midfield and will dominate teams are going to be sorely mistaken. Its one thing in a side where you are out of possession alot. But when you have a lot of the ball you need to be able to use the ball a lot better and not be so sloppy

He ran the game against us last season with loads of the ball.

First start away at West Ham, he will get much better?.

Besides man city and Liverpool, Brighton probably had the most possession in the league last year

Looked rusty at times (which is understandable considering it's his first start of the season) but liked the look of some of the incisive forward passes he played on a couple of occasions.

Poor performance but with his first start and still adapting to the side I'm not worried and am just happy he got 90 minutes under his belt. Was a stupid yellow but thought he played out the rest of the game well despite being hampered by it. You could see bits of better play as his confidence grew a little.

I was frustrated because he put himself under unnecessary pressure with that early moment of petulance which earned him a yellow card, then had to walk on a bit of thin ice for most of the rest of the game.

Has all the attributes, tackling, passing range but must learn from being naive by cutting out the giving away silly yellow cards like that.

It was his first start FFS, he has also dominated midfields in the PL in a lesser side

He was also on a booking and had a man with one leg next to him

He was awful but I rate the guy highly and he will do well. I felt like he was stifled (perhaps because of the yellow) but when he got th eball it is as if he didnt know what to do with it - that surprised me as he is good with the ball
