I had high hopes for him based on his style of play and ridiculous Eredivisie tally, unfortunately he wasn’t good enough. I still feel that with a run he’d have developed and become a competent scorer, but it was just never going to happen given who our first choice is. He really should’ve taken the Brighton loan. Difference between him and Llorente, Llorente already knew he could play at the top level, poor form and irregular game time wasn’t going to destroy him.

I think the lesson to learn is that while Harry is around, we are better of developing a young understudy than signing a young understudy. The risk v potential yield just doesn’t add up.

Gonna miss the bloke, but yep. Strange career trajectory for Vinny, so far.

I have prepared a simple graph to illustrate this:

?

Let’s hope he finds some form and starts banging in goals again. ??

Sorry VJ, my most beloved shit spurs player is still Bobby Soldier.

Quite glad he's gone, based on the fact that by all accounts he was constantly referred to as a reason why we couldn't improve the squad. Just GKN to go now...

Good luck to him. What a complete come down for him. 3 years ago he is No9 for the Dutch national team and moves to Spurs. 3 years later he can’t hit a barn door and ends up in Mexico.

I’m not convinced we bought a Dud. Something just went horribly wrong for him and he never recovered. I still don’t know how he hasn’t managed to get a move to a relatively modest team in Europe.
Agree, very strange transfer when you see other players getting premiership moves or aboard, for him to end up in Mexico there must be something that we don’t hear about with him or his attitude.
But do wish him well and was always hope he would come good for us but unfortunately not to be.

Really surprised a low to mid sized PL didn't take a punt. Very odd.

He was awful is why. Don’t get me wrong, good luck to the guy but he’s one of the biggest flops in the clubs history. But hey, you win some you lose some.

Good luck to Vinny.

Happier for us to have sorted it out more than anything though, getting the deadwood out helps us get the signings we crave.

The thing with him was he had decent hold up play but he always had his back to goal and was rarely in the box to finish off a move or score and the few chances he did have, he either fluffed them or the keeper saved them.

He wasn't that awful in overall play.

He's a good player who we took a £17m punt on. It just didn't work out.

Considering strikers are hard to come by I would have expected a PL struggler to gamble £6m on the lad who's only 23/24.
