I'd imagine asking for £10-15m for a player who's scored about 5 goals since 2016, we didn't assign a squad number to and who the manager said wasn't in his plans put a lot of teams off. If the club wants to offload Janssen then it has to be at a price where clubs think he's worth a punt.

Well Bournemouth paid 20m for a striker from Liverpool that has scored less...

We can only assume that his attitude is awful. When Poch arrived he cleared out what he considered to be the rotten eggs, he values attitude above everything else. Janssen has allowed himself to stagnate, nobody else is to blame.

VJ never struck me as a player who didn't try. He always seemed keen to get stuck in when he first arrived. Maybe he's clashed with Poch at some point but I can't see the point in humiliating the player by not giving him a squad number and then expecting to be able to sell him or get anything worthwhile out of him. It really is hanging out your dirty washing in public.

That's what makes me think he's been a mega dick behind the scenes. We probably wont ever know for sure. But given the managers comments and how other players with 'attitude' issues have been cast adrift? Who knows. But, if he has a squad number and is going to get a game then I'm all for getting behind the lad and cheering him on. Whilst he didn't score so many he was ok all round.

Whether he was registered for 25 man squad in summer or not they should have kept him with number 9 unless they were going to give it to someone else (which they didn't, instead leaving it pointlessly vacant).

And then Poch has been far too honest re: Jansen saying not in plans etc - he usually plays things very well but for this one should have used a bit more spin.

Firstly, so he can remain as an option if we really REALLY needed him and secondly because as others have said why would another team want to sign him?

We've taken his number away and treated him pretty much like he's done something very bad, which must be a bit off putting for potential clubs looking at him?

Its not Poch responsibility to sell Janssen. Could well have been his buying him though.

Yeah but Poch has been damaging the goods a bit lol.

I know Levy can be a master of this but even his dark powers extend so far at times...

Apparently, loan deal with Schalke was agreed. Janssen agreed as well. It fell through because there was not enough time for a medical.

Too bad the only doctor who can do a medical only had one appointment during the whole transfer window and it just happened to be right before the window closed. Maybe next summer there's another chance!

On another note, hope that Janssen turns it around and starts banging them in.

I'm really surprised Janssens agent hasnt come out and explained reasons why he is being frozen out. Can only assume he's done something so bad they've agreed to keep it hush hush.
Must be frustrating wasting your prime years with the u23's

I'm no sure if its been mentioned previously, but not long ago Poch said his problem with VJ was purely professional, not a personal issue. I could be wrong but I think it comes from when he went on loan to Turkey. Poch told him to go on loan to Brighton to get used to the premier league but VJ said no and disobeyed him and went to Turkey anyway. I think this was what caused the fallout between the pair. I could be wrong, but thought I'd try and shed some light on the issue.

I may be wrong but when this was all happening didn’t brighton already have 2 premier league loans, which would’ve meant he couldn’t join anyway

Pochettino says Vincent Janssen will be in Spurs’ new PL squad list: “When we now have two free places, with GK Nkoudou going to Monaco and Dembele to China, he’s going to be on the list. That is my decision, that he’s going to be involved with the first team from today.”

Poch would never make a living as a used car salesman.

Ford Mondeo. Has been clocked and bodged up for the MOT. Dog was sick in the back seat and there are loads of better ones available for the same money or less. I'd give it away but my boss says he wants more for it than we paid for it 4 years ago. No reasonable offers accepted - full asking price only.

Oh deary me. A token squad place? Why? He should still be behind Parrott in the pecking order. The dude is just not good enough and should not be given first team minutes ahead of a promising player. I like the bloke but he isnt good enough at all.

I would love to see him do a Mouss & miraculously come very good with goals, and assists. Nobody would be happier to eat humble pie than me.
