With eriksen/dele/son/moura/lamela around him we can get some value out of him.

If poch is willing to play Llorente, then he must give Vinny a shot.

Can do a job for us, there are qualities to his game. And we got a spot open for him, at least in the Premier League squad. I fear Poch will be stubborn though.

Chinese window still open too.

2 in 4 for Llorente, regularly scoring in cups and a decent record in the prem before....not remotely the same as Janssen.

There are no secrets in pro football, there are clearly issues around Janssen as it would seem nobody will touch him with a barge pole. No idea what the problem is but looks like we give him away or are stuck with him.

I'd imagine asking for £10-15m for a player who's scored about 5 goals since 2016, we didn't assign a squad number to and who the manager said wasn't in his plans put a lot of teams off. If the club wants to offload Janssen then it has to be at a price where clubs think he's worth a punt.

Which is my point, we're going to have to give him away. Players and coaches talk to each other, there has to be an issue with Janssen, nobody will go near him, he's a Dutch international ffs

There's not necessarily an issue with him. If Nile Ranger can keep finding clubs then Janssen will get another. The problem is we're asking too much for a bloke whose managed about 5 goals in 3 years. No club in their right mind is going to pay more than £10m for a striker with a record that bad.

How long until his contract runs out anyone know ?

Supposedly 2020.

Ranger won't be on anything like Janssens's money. I'm really not sure what your point is: there is a reason he doesn't have a shirt number, there is a reason nobody will touch him. Unfortunately in football a % of players are happy to take big wages and give nothing in return, the evidence suggests Janssen is one of them, hence everybody swerving him.

IIRC Janssen's on £25k a week - Joey Barton was at one point earning £70k a week. Balotelli has repeatedly clashed with teammates at training, broke pre-match team curfews and still manages to find clubs willing to pay him a ridiculous salary. Football clubs don't tend to care how a player behaves as long as they are deemed to be performing on the pitch.

The point is: since 2016 Janssen has made 44 apps and scored 6 goals. Would you pay between £10-15m for a striker with that kind of record?

The trainingground is the place to prove it. I am sure that if he has some sort of revelation then he will be allowed to play.

This is such a confusing situation and my immediate thought is that he must have done something really really shit to get treated the way he has been. By all accounts what Toby did last year was unforgivable but yet he appears to have had Poch's forgiveness and is back where he belongs, so what's to say that VJ can't do the same?

Without knowing what VJ has done it's difficult to judge but given that he hasn't been sold or loaned out and is getting back to fitness, surely there is now an opportunity for him to make amends with the club and fight for a place in the squad? We could do with another striker and he clearly has an eye for goal from his goalscoring record in the Netherlands.

Or is he just really really shit?

Nope, which is my point all along. We either give him away or we're stuck with him.

We can only assume that his attitude is awful. When Poch arrived he cleared out what he considered to be the rotten eggs, he values attitude above everything else. Janssen has allowed himself to stagnate, nobody else is to blame.
