I’m really disappointed our resident nut jobs haven’t been on here to load us with information about where Tanguy’s on holiday and when he flies back.

In my day, I’d have fashioned a false wall panel in his hotel room and watched him intently for 24 hours, harvesting useful information like flight data and sock preferences only when he was sleeping. I would also have used his sleeping time to throw the carrier bags packed with turds and piss I’d used to relieve myself with while in the panel onto a neighbouring balcony. And I would have done all this with a smile.

If we do get Ndombele, and when all are fit, who do you think will be his first choice partner when we play 4-2-3-1? Winks or Sissoko? Possible also of course that we opt for Liverpool 4-3-3 set-up more often, with v strong midfield and fast and skillful trio up front.

4-3-3 is exactly how I see us playing . Sissoko and tangay against the better teams otherwise rotating winks. Leaving a space for more creative player, be that eriksen ( if still here) or GLC

Why not play any two of three
NDombele and Sissoko playing one up and one back etc
NDombele and Winks same
Sissoko and, Winks for weaker games

I think we'd see a first choice of Ndombele and Winks with Sissoko and Dier rotating/ offering backup options. I'm pretty sure that would add a lot of needed quality to the middle and much needed depth

I try and stop myself from imagining formations with new players as my head starts to explode. If we get NDombele and everyone stays fit, where the hell do we fit all my favourite players in ! I mean Winks is always a starter for me, in a 2 or a 3, and obviously Kane and Son are (imo) nailed on starters. If NDombele starts with Winks and GLC also signs, then where does Dele play, and what if Eriksen stays..... Christ, we could actually look a formidable outfit next season if it all pans out.

I want Ndombele as much as anyone and believe he can be world class but many thought the same about Bakayoko. IF he signs I hope fans have a bit of patience also as he may take a while to adapt.

Why? Usually you would have a holding player and two for transition. Would expect Dier/Wanyama and then any two out of Eriksen, Sissoko, Ndombele or Winks

Perhaps even Winks in holding role

I think Wanyama will be history unless we get a big offer for Dier
Can't see why Sissoko /NDombele can't be one up or down and Winks NDombele with the AM in front

I agree, I see us going to more of a 433.
Sissoko, Dier or Wanyama (whichever of the latter two stays) sitting centrally to provide physical presence and shield the defence. Then Ndombele providing the energy to one side, and Eriksen/Lo Celso sat the other side providing the guile. Winks played very disciplined last year due to the lack of Dier/Wanyama, but with others now available to play that role, Winks should be freed up to express himself more, capable of providing energy and vision to move the ball.
I know ITK said Eriksen staying would not impact the drive to add two new CM’s, but I do wonder if the shift in his plans toward staying, could be behind the media picking up on us going after Elmas, maybe with Eriksen still in situ, we may well want that additional player still, but feel there’s less need to go after a GLC level player, and more of an up and coming option would be better.

Id agree with that last part we will get ND rather than GLC and buy a 40m max player as an AM
Or part of a swap etc
ND is most important

Hopefully. Bakayoko is having a good season at AC too, sometimes it takes a season to adapt.

As for the deal, I kind get the sense the deal is practically done and as been for a little while. Feels like it just a case of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. Which also means anything can happen as well. Hopefully it get done and announced this coming week
