Fine to be a smartarse but we haven't won anything for 10 years and keep falling short.
Email that to the club as well, not sure they're aware of that either.

They weren't awful they were inconsistent like Aurier is.
Might be something to do with the 3 penalties he's given away, and the few others he's been lucky to get away with, the foul throws, and general wasteful crossing from good positions. Apart from that he's been great.I think he’s been pretty good. Not sure where the flack comes from.

I would still expect a big improvement next season, although I'm not sure it will be big enough.
I was very optimistic based on his performance away to Real Madrid. He gave away a trademark penalty, but that was more a case of either risking conceding a penalty or having Kroos shoot from 8 yards. He played very well the rest of the game and gave a vibe of him just knowing that he belonged at the level where he could just more or less shut down a left side with Marcelo, Isco and Ronaldo. And delivering on that knowledge as well.
But he's still a downright liability, even if he's not the downright shitstorm some people make him out to be. Hoped that he'd found his feet a bit more at this stage, but I'm not giving up on him yet. The language barrier, no preseason and moving to another league playing for a team where such huge demands are put on the fullbacks seems like mitigating circumstances.
Oh yeah, he’s been a clumsy bastard at times - still nowhere near as bad as the morons that have been slating him make out. Talent-wise, he has what is necessary - but his application can be found wanting. I can’t think of one time he’s been lucky not to give away a penalty?
What about the scorching goal vs Bournemouth? The last ditch blocks and tackles? The crosses he mishits on purpose to give us a chuckle? I think he’s supported the attack and defence well, with a lot of energy, when he’s played. Vertonghen is the best centre back in the league, but he’s got a way with a lot in the box this season.
Will see what happens next season.
He’s in a new country, a completely different way of life on and off the field... he’s got a huge amount to learn and that takes time. He’s bound to make mistakes and yes he needs a slap for the repeated foul throws. He has however put in some decent performances and has the raw attributes to do well with sufficient coaching and adapting his game over time to how the team plays. When he makes a mistake people are jumping on the bandwagon of ‘oh he’s shit, get rid’... yet his competition (Trippier) has been awful at times this season too and he’s our experienced full back! All players make mistakes - Lloris has been poor recently, Kane’s half asleep, Dembele has no end product, Davies has been atrocious, Alli and Son have a habit of going MIA.... only when he’s had a good 2 seasons and still looks like a liability, then yes we should be looking to move him on. If he does well then great.
It’s due to all the media stuff before we signed him, imo. People got a preconceived notion of him being a bad egg and troublesome - and they’re for some reason desperate to keep seeing him that way.
