I get that the ball juggling grated some and looked disrespectful, I was also in two minds about it crossing a line.

But Richarlison was very aware that half their team were on yellows when he came on and getting someone sent off was definitely on his to-do list. Baiting them like that very almost worked.

Ultimately though, the most audacious, and frankly outrageously rude thing he did yesterday was that assist with the outside of his boot. Modric-esque and a thing of sublime beauty

I love players like him. This is football and it’s about WINNING! Being a nice guy or any of that shit can wait until you’re off the pitch. Players that will do absolutely anything to win or get an edge over their opponent, like his constant shithousing, are my kind of players! Some of the best teams in PL history like United under SAF, Chelsea under Mourinho, Arsenal from the late 90’s to early 2000’s were absolutely full of horrible bastards, it’s not a coincidence, it really isn’t

I think its more that he was genuinely kicked in the balls, there's not many that will have that happen and not roll around on the floor. There's plenty of times he does go over the top but that wasn't one of them.

Well that's fair because I actually missed it on the stream - I just saw him rolling around and the commentators making it sound like it was play acting.

So will hold my hands up on that if they were full of shit. But I've seen enough of him to know he prefers making a meal of things than playing on. Him and Bruno are maybe the two worst currently and I just don't enjoy it.

What he did for the goal, using his strength, staying on his feet - that's what I want. If he did more of that and less play acting I think he'd be a much bigger threat. But each to their own.

His determination to get the ball for the assist was a thing of pure brutality. Loved it. The defender should be embarrassed. Got totally bodied.

He is quality. Like him a lot. Intelligent, strong and loves being a **** on the pitch.

So what are they classing as showboating?

Step overs, rebona...

Any tricks that are unnecessary and add no value I guess.

Stepovers have a purpose as it can potentially cause a defender to commit to go in a particular direction allowing the attacking player to go past them.

A rabona will just be because the player is one-footed like Lamela is and won't be done to mock the opposition players.

Bit of showboating - inquest. Studs up off the ground tackle - mans game

We should go out and sign that Brazillian player Kerlon who used to run along with the ball balanced on his head and watch their big pink heads explode

Keeping the ball up could also cause a defender to commit to a challenge.

There is no way you can start to ban stuff like this.

I agree, the French league in the past have booked both Neymar and Paqueta for doing rainbow flicks, I personally think it's nonsense.

The shithousery part that of the kick in the balls was he went down about five seconds after it happened and when there was a stop in play. Every man who has taken a swift kick or football to the bollocks knows it's an instant KO, not act like nothing happens for a few seconds and then go down to waste some time.

But I'm not against what he did though, I found it funny.
Au contraire mon frere. I’ve experienced that injury a few times in my life and there is definitely a delayed pain thing that comes a few seconds later. You definitely feel the impact immediately but that ache/nauseous feeling that follows a few seconds later is what is unbearable. Maybe not all guys experience this but I looked it up on the interwebs and it’s definitely a thing. It also doesn’t go away right away…you just have to bear it for awhile.

Showboating at it's worst.. :)

Some refs might have seen Richie's tricks as showing a lack of respect for the game for which he could have been cautioned , so the law is already there, depends on interpretation by the ref.
