Ronaldinho or Rivaldo did that sort of thing back in the day and it’s on repeat on YouTube with all the plaudits. The commentators today went way over the top on it. Personally think conte loves his next level shithousing, that’s why he brought him in to help add some fight to the team and disrupt the opposition

Conte not happy...

"I wouldn't want my players to do what Richarlison did," Conte said. "It wouldn't be accepted here."

Conte's actual comments:

Was Richarlison being disrespectful by doing keepy-uppies?

At the moment I was with the bench because I was making another substitution. I think he juggled with the ball. It is a game and you are under pressure. I repeat it is OK. I don't think Richy wanted to show disrespect to Nottingham Forest.

Forest are a really good team with a great history in football and we have great respect. Richy for sure thinks in the same way. Not disrespectful for anyone and I can tell you this.

Oh yeah, Conte loved it. No doubt about it.

Man I am trying. I just really dislike him.

If he does more of what he did for the goal, which was brilliant, and less lying on the ground holding his balls, I could warm to him.

I think I accepted it with Lamela because his shithousery was quite sly, it always felt like the football came first. Whereas with richy it feels like the drama is centre stage.

Have to say that when we were first linked, I didn't want him at all. Now, I totally love him.
Love the energy, talent and of course the shithousing.
Deserves a start and may well become my favourite player.

So Jamie Carragher moans about Richarlison “showboating” while justifying Brennan’s cynical scything of his legs. Richarlison spent a few seconds extra on the ball with some keepy-uppies before passing to a teammate - he wasn’t timewasting (the ball was in play), he was merely slowing the game down because we led the match and didn’t need to exert any particular haste.

If Forest players get wound up by it, that’s their own fault and it certainly doesn’t make reckless hacking acceptable. And I didn't notice any of our players feeling the need to go and hack Dean Henderson while he waved his hat around for 5mins after his Kane penalty save.
Let's not forget Firminho constantly doing his 'no-look' goals when he has an open net or rounded the keeper. Liverpool pundits go wild for that pisstake. I found the commentary laughable.

There is a bit of unpredictability in Richarlison I love.
I bet not many in that stadium saw that cross of outside of right boot coming. No wonder Forest defense were on backfoot

I hope both Richarlison & Son get on scoresheet soon - once they do, we will fly

Wonder what Jamie Carragher thinks about players like George Best, Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles ,Tony Currie, they did it every week in the 70's and it was all a part of the entertainment.
Carragher as a defender didn't have that skill or spark so is totally unable to understand it.

He must be knocking on the door now for a start. Although I do wonder if he'll have the same impact from the start as he does when he comes on.

Either way he's been 7/10 in all 3 appearances so far and can't fault him

love him already, british media has the weird anti flair agenda, not every player can be a garth barry, james milner, nice to see some flair, don't care what carragher says tbh, he would of said different if it was diaz or fimino

I liked him at Everton and I dont mind the shithousery even if its against us - its all part of the game. I do though think he perhaps should tone down the diving etc - always holding somethign when he falls haha...

Couldn't care less what he does on the pitch if it isn't detrimental to the team. Let him wind the opposition up ffs. (I am saying this full knowing he passed the ball directly to the opposition.) We need this type of player as long as he can keep his head (see Lamela.)
