Lol at the Son knockers in this thread, has been our best player for a while and already he’s out of the SL according to some here. Kane and Son start always, they are literally the most deadly pair in the Premier League

It doesn't mean they can't have off games or need a break. We have a huge amount of fixtures coming up this season, with some only a few days in between, plus the world Cup, so knowing when to rotate someone out for a game is key

You’re talking about last seasons PL top goal scorer being replaced by a workhorse with some skill (I do rate him btw)

If Son is fit then he starts, he’ll be pushing himself to do better.

That is a really bad approach. We needed a stronger squad and now we have it. Now we need to pick the team on merit and drive standards higher through competition and by resting players to ensure they are always at optimal fitness. Imagine how great it would be to be able to bring Son or Kane on (in a similar way to when Conte brought on Costa, Hazard and Fabregas against us in a cup semi-final when he was Chelsea manager).

With the squad we have we need to rotate. The Forest game is a good time to reward Richarlison with a start (for his great impact appearances) and Kane and Kulu have both done more than Son in the first three games, so I'd have Son on the bench. I'd then start Son in the next game.

You’re treating teams in the PL with no respect, as if we can just disrupt the link between Kane and Son and stroll to a win with a completely different forward line.

Maybe some cup games but for now hes an impact sub. Son is 150m player in today’s market, and probably our best.

Lets see what Conte does anyway because he’ll settle this debate on the 28th!

I feel like he's looking sharper every time he's coming on. Against Chelsea it was all energy and nuisance but lacking in finesse, while on Saturday he was beating multiple players all on his own.

Hopefully the competition will drive him to new heights. He knows that he has to seriously impress in his cameos to get into the team, so fingers crossed he'll keep improving and start getting some goals for us from the bench.

Playing your best players every game is a small club mentality that will ensure that (a) Your best players are more likely to get injured or burnout and (b) when you need the understudies to contribute they will not be sharp. It is a World Cup year. Son and Kane are their countries talismen. Conte needs to manage their minutes and ensure that Richarlison is also fit, firing, motivated and sharp. I'd rather Son was sharp and in form in March when we have knockout CL games than in August against the likes of Nottingham Forest.

As I said, we’ll return to this on 28th, pointless back and forth until then

It’s a form game and Sonny has been off the pace the first three games.

No one is undroppable. You have to play the 11 that are in best form and also rotate allowing avoidance of injuries and keeping the squad fresh.

IMHO Richarlison should probably start the next game and bring Sonny on at 60mins.

As Spids said, blindly playing the best 11 week in week out is small club mentality - It’s exactly what Conte himself said we need to move away from and that it’s a squad game.

That may be the case but there's nothing wrong with Son coming off the bench to have some impact against tired legs either.

He needs a goal, he's not on it but he's still one of the best finishers in the world. The best way for him to get that goal and get him going again might just be for him to have a run against a tired team. Nobody is knocking Son, it's clear he's not ON IT.

He usually does start every game when fit, like Kane, but there's a reason we now have a squad. They can't play every game and if they're not playing well it's no harm they don't start. Competition should bring better performances and its wrong if Son thinks he's untouchable.

There hasn't been any ITK for weeks so no point in having a thread for it.
Fair point!

Saw on twitter that someone called The Wolf had put some stuff put but couldn't remember if he was on here or a different platform

Top shithousing! I can picture Chelsea fans frothing at the corners of their mouths, shouting vitriol at their screens upon seeing this ??

Love this guy already. He's getting a goal on Saturday (I hope)
It's not real. Someone photoshopped the score on this picture

Also need to appreciate that Richarilson is currently making an impact off the bench and that's very different to starting. A lot of the 'difference' he made against Wolves was a result of fresher legs and its bold to assume he will start that way, whilst leaving a golden boot winner out. I quite like him where he is atm.

Of course, all that is ripped up in the coming weeks when rotation simply has to happen and will happen.
