Got a chance playing Sarr’s position vs Wolves and didn’t impress.
Nobody impressed v Wolves in the main though. So harsh to single him out based on that. He came on v Sheffield United and helped us win by kicking off the move for the winner.

Context is everything, I was replying to a post suggesting he be given a shot in Sarr’s position rather than singling him out. He was poor vs Wolves as were Dier, Bissouma and Emerson.

He's far from the biggest problem, and when he comes on for the last 30 mins or even starts with 10 other first team players, he's fine, not great, but decent.

He definitely doesn't suit the system, but his weaknesses are magnified when half the first team are out, and he's playing with pretty much a second string team.

He's fine to keep till the summer as a squad player in my opinion. Way more important positions to be focusing on.

Not sure it needs to be said really.

Indeed loaning players out is pointless when we are short on numbers. Full sale or no point in talking. We have also seen numerous times now clubs are taking us for a ride with these loan deals and no intention of following them up.

I think given the circumstances we have no choice but to keep him in January. Fortunately he is one of the few players we are trying to shift that actully has a few suitors, so unless he also succumbs to the injury curse then we shouldn't have any serious problem selling him in the summer.

PEH filling in at times is ok imo but him AND Skipp together like it likely will be in Jan when Biss & Sarr are away will be a big problemo.

Sadly not at the level we need at all. The sort of player we had in the Alan Sugar era.
Are you comparing him to players like caskey, saib, Jason dozzell?

The sugar era was littered with turgid players.

He isnt as bad as you are making out. He just isn't as good as Bissouma, or Bentancur. No shame in that

Might go later in the Jan window if we can bring in a better fit.
No Bissouma through AFCON, no Bentancur at same time means PEH in line to play 6. We should be worried as he’s not a great 6. Wouldn’t be the worst idea to get a proper 6 in early along with a CB, but you’d keep PEH as cover.

Definitely worse backups than PEH. He clearly lacks a bit of quality but he's a great option to have off the bench for fresh legs or to see a game out. You can never fault his effort. I'd keep him if he's happy being a backup option, I think he gets some unfair stick.

He’s alright from the bench, however without Bents and Biss in January our ball progression will suffer badly.

You could notice the difference when he came on against Villa.

I still like him but I do think there’s an argument he’s never been the same since he was ill.

Also I’m not sure he’s a natural centre back.
I have often thought if he could do a midfield role..did under poch

Incredible that we managed to come back against one of the best teams in the world with him on the pitch. And Skipp as well. You’d think that Ange would’ve kept Gil and Bissouma on - or maybe they just aren’t as bad as some in here want to make them.

We gained a bit more control to the midfield when he came on. Solid performance from a solid player.
Nothing to do with him. It was having an outlet in Kulu on the right and bissouma growing into it. Hojbjerg came on and gave them the ball 3 x in a row.
