I thought I can never detest a Spurs player but his inability to contribute to forward play other than side and back passing, is hard not to. His limitation is unreal...

Good thing he isn't asked to play in a creative attacking role then at home to relegation material :blackeye:

Not his fault for the overall performance or disappointing result. But he should never be playing wide right of a front 3, WTF was that about. And playing there in front of far more capable players. Fucking ridiculous.

Well the tactic worked really well when he played there in the second half against Everton, so to be fair it must have been an easy sell.

Wasn’t even one of his worst games, but why is he starting against a weak promoted side as a wide attacker? I mean it’s obvious why, but still, why?

And not only that, he plays the full 90 while players with technical ability sit on the bench.

This defence first mindset against even the weakest of teams is what’s made me lose the last of my patience with Mourinho.

not his best game, and I like the guy. agree its dumb to play him as an attacker on the flank. he's an enforcer.

I think we’ve gone on a similar journey here, Pegasus with me falling from a higher point of optimism (which probably sums us both up to a tee), but both of us having found the positives when it looked like there was justification in the managers approach, but now that those have disappeared are just wondering why we let our ideals slip.

Sissoko was the last person responsible for the draw. He’s wasn’t put in the best position to succeed. We know his limitations, and he shouldn’t be a first XI fixture next season, but he also contributes great effort and great powerful running to the team. Without him, we might not be in a cup final. He’d be invaluable as a well liked squad player, and hopefully that’s what he is next season.

I actually don’t mind him AS A DM against top sides, I wouldnt be totally annoyed with him DM against average sides. But to play him at RW against relegation fodder is fucking stupid. We could have played Hojberg next to Ndombele today and still had room for 4 of Kane, Son, Bale, Dele, Lamela or Vinny.
The problem with Jose is his first thought is how good are they at defending instead of what can they bring going forward.

I mind him starting games. He shouldn't start at all. He is so limited his time here is way overdued. He doesn't need to be marked and he will still retreat by himself and pass back, that's what so depressing watching him play. He can be his MOTM against teams like Marine AFC I don't care - that is his level. If not, he should only be involved in games coming on defending a lead in the last 10 minutes. Looked at how well he can pass forward and assist Kane for the goal at Leeds without any pressure. I am done with a big guy like him playing the safe pass every fucking single time. Even Kamara coming on for Fulham in the last 10 minutes had more useful run and physicality than Sissoko for the whole fucking season.

The same things being posted in here after a draw are the same things being levelled at him 2 years ago. Moussa Sissoko is exactly who we thought he was.

Application and determination in buckets. Limited in many aspects.

Had a great run into the box but just didn't want to shoot.
If he doesn't play DM then he shouldn't play.
Even then he should be back up.

Think the way Mourinho uses Sissoko (primarily as a central midfielder who covers the RB and occasionally from RW offering the same cover for the RB) is the biggest hint that he wants somebody like Sabitzer to eventually replace him.

There were a couple of occasions last night where Hojbjerg, Winks and Sissoko all got into good goalscoring positions but just did not have the composure and/or ability to score. Sabitzer has developed into a real goalscoring midfielder from deep who would've loved the chances our midfielders got last night. I think thats something we are hugely lacking at the moment.
