This passage of play had me shouting at the TV last night for the lack of options available to Hojbjerg, causing him to pass straight out of play. But having just seen it on Reddit and watched it back just look at this clown. That immediate pass back instead of turning right at the start set it up, then the hiding behind Chelsea players and the pointing instead of finding space.

Our players struggle to press as a coherent unit and can't bypass a press with that current team. Maybe with Gio instead of Sissoko we could. I think we rely on balls over the top and an over-reliance on Ndombele to break the press and any team that can press/counter-press as an attacking unit will pin us in because our CB's just aren't good enough on the ball.

A smart, responsible and brave footballer playing in Sissoko position will elevate the midfield and everyone so much better. Again look at that clip, no one from chelscum even bothered marking Sissoko, because they knew he will mark himself out from those hidings. Those spaces he had, my lord, what luxury. But he chose to not enter those pockets and receive the balls, make one-twos, or break aways. None at all. Which is why we are always looking 1 guy short - all because of him.

That passage made me actually laugh. That sums Sissoko but also the whole team up under Mourinho. The number of stupid decisions, lack of movement and passing ability by so many of our players in such a short clip is ridiculous.

I thought that was going to be a clip from the second half when I saw him do something similar a couple of times. He’s awful.

Up there with my most disliked players of recent times just behind Paulinho. Our football has been so turgid since he’s somehow managed to hoodwink his way into both Poch and Jose’s team. He’s an absolute coward and if I never see him in a spurs shirt again it will be too soon.

Tbh he wasnt the only one hiding from the ball but was more exposed as a cm. But he just isnt good enough no matter what tactics we use

I think his performances are a litmus test for the rest of the squad. His prime function now is to defend and gone are the days when you could pretty much guarantee a rampaging run up the pitch at some point during a game. The joy has been sucked out of the game for the players as well as the supporters.

I don't think that's fair. He's very limited and we need to move him on but he's served us well as some fucking limited multi-tool that's okay at a few bits and pieces. But his athleticism and tactical discipline were what made him a valuable asset to both Poch and Mourinho but that seems to be waning now so it doesn't cover his deficiencies.

Levy balked at Mane's wages and price tag and panic bought Sissoko on deadline day.

He should of been sold or hounded out of the club after giving that penalty away in the champions league final. That was unforgivable pointing for no reason. He’s still doing it in that video from last night!

He couldn't play Pochettino's diamond formation because it was too tiring (his words), being a baby sitter for Aurier isn't easy and when he feels that tactics are wrong he plays worse. He is what he is, limited footballer who will sometimes run a lot. At least he's a good teammate and willing to help Ndombele settle etc.

You are absolutely spot on... but those two aren't the only issue in midfield. We have also allowed goals, creativity and technique to leave the team in the form of Eriksen and Dele. Lamela is still there too and he should have been ditched three years ago. Lucas and Bergwijn also offer little in an attacking sense. Our midfield is a shadow of what it was.

I casually watch the highlights of other games and im watching Dallas, Harrison,Raphina , Bamford banging them in at Leeds .

Grealish,Maddison, McTominay chipping in. Saka at the scum. Eze ,Soucek .

Not just goals but bright moments . Potential . Assists. Lovely turns and passes.

Then I look at our team and the rest of them bar Kane and Son have done absolutely nothing. Lamela is entering testimonial territory haha. Lucas god love him can't shoot for toffee. Stevie B couldn't get a kick in a stampede at the moment.

I don't see any positivity or players that could even be coached or up-skilled. Lucas and Lamela are at their ceiling. I have hope for Stevie B but come on even a blind squirrel should find the odd nut.

Imagine even a geriatric David Silva in that space.

He's a complete coward of a footballer ,hides and plays teammates into trouble regularly such is his fear of the ball and taking responsibility. The arm waving and constant pointing fucking looks like he's trying to land a plane , big part of us handing the champions league final to the dippers , such a limited footballer.

Think it would be good to part ways in summer. We always fall back to him but we will develop nothing because he is so shocking limited.
Has the odd good game and shows more effort than others but if he is the best we can come up with at the heart of midfield we will get nowhere.

How the fuck did he get given a new contract is what I want to know. Madness. I remember even Poch being surprised he got one!
