Anyone know any info on Angel Correa?
Liar-yll Thomas. Am I right? Am I right?Lyall Thomas lol
Nothing against Foyth at all but I'm a bit frustrated that it appears he's being lined up as Trippier's replacement for this season. It's all well and good for him to be a makeshift option when injuries force our hand -- he's acquitted himself perfectly well at RB -- but it should not be his permanent position IMO.
Foyth is not a prototypical modern wingback with the dynamism to bomb up and down the flank, and unless Poch is adapting his tactics then what we need is that prototypical wingback. Aurier is the only player who fits the bill, but he hasn't gone a month without picking up a muscle injury in ages. Failing to replace Trippier with a new signing would virtually guarantee that we play the majority of our matches without an ideal wingback on the right side, and with Rose seemingly on his way out as well we'd be leaving ourselves with a pretty glaring weakness yet again.
KWP appeared ready made to succeed Trippier/Aurier however the fact that Foyth played in front of him when both Trippier and Aurier were unfit makes me think Pochettino may not trust him fully (yet).
KWP is now 22 and as such would be taking up one of the 25 squad places , whereas the was a "free" addition last season. So I guess Pochettino will have to decide whether or not to sacrifice one of the 25 places, though he helps fulfil the "8 homegrown" quota.
I honestly don't think Dier can do a job at right back anymore. He's lost an awful lot of pace since the last time he played fullback with any regularity.Dier can do a job there also as can KWP - we will be fine. For the record I think Foyth will make a very good right back.

More of an AM winger than a striker.

Assuming for a moment it's not intended for KWP to step up and given that we're splashing some cash, what right backs could we realistically get that could be an improvement?
