I'm assuming that Kaboul and Chiriches will definitely go, and Fazio may be available too if we get another one in. Much depends on how Poch rates Fazio I suspect, but he seemed to fall out of favour up until Walker got injured again and Dier was needed at RB.

5 is the minimum a team who expects to compete across multiple competitions should have. We have 3 proven: Vertonghen, Fazio, Dier. We have 1 we expect to perform in Wimmer, and then we have youth candidates who have not yet proven capable of playing at this level.

I trust our staff to evaluate those players and add another CB, if necessary.

That may be why Premier League defences are generally so poor. Chelsea and Soton are the only teams who could claim to have a good defence last season, and even Chelsea's was shown up a bit in Europe.

Could mean he gets less time in the first team which he might not consider good news

If it helps him establish himself as one of our first team centre backs next year then I'm sure he will be happy with the situation, if however he finds himself with far less game time due to lacking cover opportunities at right back and not being a first choice CB I'm not sure he will be pleased

I think it will be better for us and the balance of our squad to have a more natural right back there than having to play centre halves like Vlad and Dier in
