Moved this into Spurs Chat where it now belongs.

Good signing and one that will add much needed competition for the starting right back spot. Here's hoping Kyle can respond in the same way Rose did last summer.

Asked my Ipswich supporting bro about Trippier as he saw a lot of Burnley the year they got promoted and the year before (as well as following Prem games like most people). Here's what he said:

"Yeah I really rate him mate. Every time I've watched him he has good positional sense and good composure on the ball. Overlaps well in a wing back role too. Needs to develop his game and get stronger but a bargain at £3.5m in my opinion"

However, the same brother did once call Liverpool's signing of Balotelli "magnificent", so he's not quite the oracle!

So I've sourced the snippets that were edited out of Trippier's interview.

"Yeah, I took one look at existing RBs at Spurs, and figured that displacing Walker and top 5 game time would be more fun than chipping in crosses in the championship. I'm happy, I'll even be making far more than the likes of Bentaleb now. And seeing that his CM partner Mason made it to England's squad, there is no reason – none at all – for why I can't do that."

True* story

Talent. You should do this more often.

Highlighted him as a signing as soon as Burnley were destined for the drop, I would have happily paid double what we did so the release clause was a huge result.

Big fan of him every time I saw him play and on current form (at least... If not in general) is a big upgrade on Walker in my opinion.

I know not everyone will agree but think we will reap the benefits of having a right back with a bit of intelligence and half decent delivery.

My main reaction to this signing:

Fuck off to the "PLAYER WATCH:" text in the thread title. Just fuck off with it.

So, he's what...17? Bide your time, go out on loan and prove your worth... He's still years off of the first time regardless.

Yea maybe, I still think we're overstocked in that position now, if you look at left back I think after Rose and Davies nobody knows what our options are. Yet at right back we have 2 internationals, 2 players with at least a years epl or championship experience, and a very promising young u18 who has already played in the first team in friendlies.
