He only turned up second half Paulo and spent the entire first half caught out of position, offered nothing in their half and every time he fucked up (very often!) rubbed his groin and looked wistfully at the sky. He had one job to do on the corner - and I do agree it was a stupid tactic from a team defensive persective as Ajax only had one aerial threat and we had plenty of players to double up on him - don’t let De Ligt get a run at the ball. Watch it again - the most pathetic defending I’ve ever seen by a defender at a corner. Others were bad too, notably Wanyama who looked equally out of his depth. No surprise that they were the two players who came off. Hopefully Poch doesn’t start either in the final or we’ll get smashed.

If anyone thinks Poch won’t start Trippier in the final, they’re kidding themselves. He doesn’t trust the others to do a job there, and Aurier likely won’t be fit or sharp enough.

He’s been poor this season, but I really hate the way everyone is getting on his back. It’s not nice to see our fans constantly singling out a player like this.

There was info at start of season he was carrying a groin injuring that he was managing.

Anyone know the best way to treat this kind of injury, would it be surgery?

Unfortunately our terraces always single out a player to vent on. This season it's Trippier, last season it was Sissoko, , yesteryear it was Dozzell, Fenwick and so on. Unfortunately, this has been going on forever.

No, he didn't get kicked in the face, he got hit in the chin by the back of Tadic's head before he swung his leg.

I've watched the replay a few times now and from what I can tell Trippier doesn't get hit in the face at all. He's just play acting. THe foot doesn't go anywhere near him and the AJax player doesn't seem to headbut him either. For me Trippier has just seen the high leg and decided to try and pretend he got kicked so that the ref blows for dangerous play.

I don't think he is being singled out. There's been criticism of several of the players at various times this season. But the fact is if you repeatedly are caught out of position and repeatedly at fault for goals, you're going to be criticised.

Dozzell was poor though, I remember back in the day hoping we’d get someone better in!

Look he was absolutely shit in the first and unfortunately teams really do target him as the weak link in our back line - rightly so

However second half we was fuckin great - really g damn good.

Trippier made 5 key passes last night...jusayin

He does switch off defensively though, 2nd goal was just horrible to watch, absolute car crash from start to finish.

Let's hope we part ways this season and get good money for him, wish him all the best but it hasn't worked out this year.

Glad I didn't comment half time:LOL:.

Lets face it, Aurier won't be fit, KWP can't be trusted and Foyth probably blew his chance in his 2 minute cameo. Trippier is what we're going with and all signs point to it being his final game, there's no point discussing whether he should leave or not because it ain't happening before the final. No other player is going to get the opportunity to prove themselves before the final.

My opinion is to just accept it, get behind him for this final game.

There are more "facts" to this story. Fact is no other position on the pitch is as visible to the fans, because they are in and out of both defensive and attacking roles to a degree that no other position does. And especially on telly, WBs make for great television shots, so you'll see a whole lot of them. When they are that visible, they are also more exposed to scrutiny, especially from people who don't know how to judge a FB objectively.
Adding further to the facts, very very few players out there would step into this team an be an immediate upgrade on Trippier (or Davies). There are younger players who will become better in a couple of years time, for sure. But there are no instantaneously and significantly better players who'd move to Spurs.

So Tripps on the back foot, having to defend? Shite.

Tripps attacking, getting on the overlap or putting an early ball in? Great.

Almost as though that's how he was so good at the WC. Hmm...

You reckon he will get match fit in time or be given the opportunity for the final after missing so much of the knockouts?

Poch has often thrown him in against 'bigger' teams with not much playing time under his belt.

Considering he shipped 2 goals last night, something he’s been doing all season, no it’s not just singling out.

Seriously? Trippier's defending has been shambolic. I'm not even convinced that he knows how to show an attacker the outside line, being as he continually invites them to cut inside. His saving grace has always been his crossing ability but we rarely see that any more. Like I've said before, I have no idea what KWP must have done to be behind him in the pecking order.
