I don't think Trippier is experiencing a blip in his form. He had some good form last season and had a nice world cup. But this year, he's been pretty poor. And i'm willing to forgive poor form, but not poor attitude. I get miffed seeing him point and rage at other players on the team whenever he makes a colossal mistake. He doesn't always come across as being accountable.

To be honest, I'll always take an excellent defending FB over an excellent attacking one. What we need is more of a combo platoon of RBs... one that is an excellent defender (which I guess was supposed to be Aurier... but that hasn't panned out), who can play against some of the better team that require us to be more defensively focused. And then you have more of an attacking RB who can come in against lower-league teams (I guess that's supposed to be Tripps… but that hasn't exactly worked out too well this season either).

So, Poch has some huge decisions to make this summer with Aurier, Tripps and KWP. Does he finally give KWP a go? Give Aurier one more season to get his act together? Cut bait with Tripps? Or get rid of the lot and bring in two new RBs? Not sure what the answer is, but I'm sure of all the choices Poch has to make this summer, this will be one of the hardest.

Couldn't it be argued that may be down to his marching orders with CP?
Of course it could, thing is it's going to cost £50 odd mil to find out. He might be great going forward he might however be no better than tripper when asked to do other jobs. It's a hefty gamble for a club in our position imo.

I'm not saying don't get him, I just think we have bigger priorities elsewhere is all.

Haven't seen that much of Atal, but what I have his defending doesn't look that good. It's Trippier's inability to defend that pisses me off most of all and what he does going forward is occasionally a bonus.
I haven’t seen much of Atal either, but I’ve seen a lot of trippier, and that’s why the signing of Atal excites me

That poor attitude was constantly encouraging, urging on & dragging his 8 team-mates through 45 minutes of constant, relentless work on Saturday afternoon.

This is the thing though, where have you seen AWB to be a dynamic wing back? A good defending full back yes, but going forward we've seen next to nothing this far.

Isn't he a converted winger? You'd think his attacking game would be pretty good.

Like you say though it's a lot of money if you're not sure.

Anyone seen the pictures of him giving a team talk at Bournemouth? The memes off the back of it were hilarious.

FWIW, I’ve not heard he has a poor attitude but I have heard that of our England contingent he’s the least ‘invested’ in Spurs/ the project. Happy to discuss in private as it’s the one flimsy bit of info I’m ever likely to be privy to.

This is the kind of shite I dislike, memes probably mocking a player for what? Standing up and being counted when we're down to nine men?

As for the bullshit about his attitude, he has one of the best out there. Never stops working and never hides, if you've seen him get at players, it's probably because they deserve it. It's often not him failing to do his job defensively in situations where he seems to get most of the blame here IMHO.

Both other right backs aren't capable of playing the little passes he does that are often our most progressive passes and make things happen.

The way Poch plays, our full backs are currently exposed quite a bit, but I honestly feel it's more about midfield and the lack of mobility to cover when either one is pushing up. Sissoko and Trippier have a good understanding and link up, but I personally think we do need someone to shield that's a bit more mobile than Dier/Wanyama.

Ancelotti confirms interest:

“All I can say is that they’re both [Trippier and Lozano] players we’re evaluating,” the former Chelsea manager admitted.

“So, to be honest, I can only confirm our appreciation of the player. Now we have to start proceeding with the analysis.”

Hope he doesn't analyze too hard!

I totally get wanting to defend one of our players when you feel he is being made a scapegoat by some fans. However, if you genuinely feel that he is not one of the weaker links in the first team squad I would seriously question your judgement.

I'm not saying that our other options at right back are any better btw, just that it is one of the key positions that we really need to be looking to upgrade.

Since when has he had a poor attitude?
I have no idea what his attitude is like off the field, but when I've been watching him this year, I often see him remonstrating with his teammates when he makes a mistake. I could be misinterpreting his body language. But what I see is a player that seems to be pointing fingers at others, and if that's a kid that I'm coaching, I would consider that to be a bad attitude. Of course, you may know a lot more than me. In which case I defer to your informed wisdom.

I think tripper has had a poor season, but he was much better last. So the question is is it an off season or was last a real purple patch? As for KWP I really fear for him tbh. Only my opinion but at his age he has to be playing. Pochs clearly not convinced or he'd have played more, bit MP in recent games has played Fourth over him as well. Bring in WB or the like and he may as well pack his bags, cos he won't be getting any game time.
Agree but then why did KWP sign a new deal if he had no assurances of starts in the future. It is odd that he’s been playing Foyth RB instead of him, surely that means KWP is out this summer.

That's the spirit, make fun of a Tottenham player with our biggest game in recent history hours away. Tool.

Can't wait to see the back of him (and Aurier for that matter). Anything in the £25-30m range and we should bite their hand off.
