Most Leicester fans are bitter about such a move to Spurs for Maddison - understandably...

I did see that common issue they have with Madisson is not turning up in big moments & games. While I agree we need a player who turns up at big times...often not turning up is down to not having better players around.

For 3 yrs + he has been their best player. So its not easy if you are the only one doing it. If we sign him, hopefully having likes of Kane Son Bentancur could drive him further.

I believe we should give him a free role , as long as he does basic defending right....Often he loses steam by 70minutes. If so, I dont mind keeping Ndombele with us for the season....Madisson for 70min & Ndombele 20min should give us same output.
If he does indeed lose steam after 70 mins in a team that didn't press that much then honestly I think he isn't suitable for what our team will turn into. I'm not fussed at all about getting him to be honest.

To be fair to Maddison he's never played for a team that required intensive pressing.

Coventry, Norwich, Leicester and England.

It doesn't mean he can't do it if asked though

Its like people think the manager wouldn't think about his suitability or something lol.

I've been consistent with my confidence re Maddison and nothing haw changed from my end. Club still expect a deal to be done, he is the top midfield target but we do have other options if we can't make it happen. I think we will get it done personally and will be delighted if we do. My only concern is he isn't really an Ange type of player but Ange is 100% behind him coming so must feel he can work with him.

The Eccleshare article makes it sound like although we are still apart on figures, there’s a will to get the transfer done between the clubs.

It is one I’ve always thought we’d complete but until it’s done (and not gazumped by one of the Manchester clubs) I’m not counting my chickens because I think he’ll be a great signing for us. Another threat for teams to worry about.

Anyone ever heard of that riddle where the frog jumps half the distance to the destination with every jump?

That's what it feels like when Tottenham 'close in' on a target

I'm sure I read that Leicester need to sell player(s) before the 30th due to FFP, which means, if true, they'll be getting desperate

It's another case of , surely Romano/Ornstein jump on it if it's potentially close.

Let's hope Charlie has got the scoop here

There really is light at the end of the last four years of miserable tunnels, isn’t there? We actually want to play football again. Praise be.

Leicesters hand weakened when Newcastle pulled out or became less enthusiastic about signing him. They were hoping for an auction and who can blame them they need the cash.

If we are starting at 40m guaranteed then given he's a year left on contract for a club that badly needs cash then we are obviously serious about it and not doing a "Grealish" on it.

Hopefully gets done

This will get done.

I think our starting point is realistic and no hint of low balling and pissing Leicester off.

Very good sign.

Yeah agree, posed the question a while back whether people thought Ange would change from his 4-3-3 purely due to the fact our best players (Son and Kane) aren't really suited to his 4-3-3 (imo). Add in Maddison and i honestly can't see how it can't be 4-2-3-1 tbh and that's no bad thing, the system didn't make Ange a good coach, it's the way he gets the players to play that makes him a good coach.

Hoping these players all fit with Ange's system. I'm excited by the prospect of Madison just hope it's not to the collectives detriment.

Similar with the keeper, hope he has enough of the right attributes for Ange to work with. Either way the club seems to be showing the usual ambition we show after we nearly get relegated or fall below Levy's comfort zone. Hope we start moving ahead on the CBS next.

Leicester will need to sell him before they can properly start their rebuild.

I think we’re in a good position to get this done by next week.

If you'd have asked me for one player I'd want as a priority signing this window, I'd have said Maddison. Would be fantastic if we can pull this off.

Edit: aside from a new Kane contract obvs.
