I love Hugo so much but his performances keep disappointing me. Keep hoping he’s going to turn a corner, and personally I think I still have some time left for him, but I can understand why others have started to give up.

Don't need to, he'll pull of a worldly in another match and people will forget this, that's what tends to happen :D
People aren't forgetting these lapses though - it's far too common place to be ignored and it's more the case of these 'worldy' games being the exception now rather than the norm.

Lloris has been a great servant to the club - that much is clear, but this notion that we should still plough on with him regardless is massively underplaying the importance of a top class and reliable 'keeper between the sticks who is often the case of deciding big game matches against our contemporaries.

My main disappointment is that under Poch and as he has got older is that he's become much more cautious. When he first joined though it looked risky as fuck anything that came within 30-40 yards of the goal he was out and dealt with. I loved that.

Today he shouldn't have even have had to save Salah's header. A proactive, positive goalkeeper is taking a few steps out and plucking it out of the air. Yes it went to the back post but it was still within the 6 yard box and he had a free run at it. Instead he's frozen to the line like the spirit of concrete boots Friedel is haunting him.

Nail on the head, so true, he used to be an absolute baller. He set a new standard for PL goalkeepers, and blazed the path for Ederson, Allison and DeGea, but now he seems to be lost somewhere in the middle of the road.

Not so sure. Those that think he’s made too many errors in big games over the last couple of seasons will still hold that opinion.

That save he produced to tip the ball over from Alexander-arnold's cross come shot was a match winning save.

The problem is it is too easy to get at our back 4.

Lloris makes good saves - but not saves amy other decent keeper doesn’t make. unfortunately he makes far more errors than any decent keeper should.

added to that his distribution is dire. i don’t think we’d lose much quality by giving Gazza a run.

It was really highlighted last night just how important goalkeeping football ability is to our play. We do play out from the back and its mixed up with long balls played upto Kane.

Gazza is by far and away superior to Lloris in this department who is quite frankly shit and brings so many nervous moments to our back 4.

So there begs the question; when should we be looking to bring in a new number one.

IMO it should be a pressing issue for our club, not neccessarily a number one straight away but certainly a keeper that has the potential to oust Lloris and who is adept at playing with his feet.

All good things come to an end. I hope the club is on the ball with this

We need to talk about Hugo.

Youre back to reasoning

I agree but i think thats Poch's doing, I think Poch has actually become more cautious. In fact i think we have as a team, we used to be so good at just starting quick with tempo. Now its the hundreds of passing crap at the back shit then we hoof it anyways

Allison is dodgy

Guardiola and Hart springs to mind....not a bad shot stopper but woeful distribution....Guardiola gets rid....harsh but that’s the world they play in

The problem is it is too easy to get at our back 4.

Most keepers make good saves, often great saves. Gomez made numerous amazing saves.

I’m not saying he’s as error prone as Gomez, but great keepers are ultimately judged on how few mistakes they make as much as match winning saves.

Lloris simply makes too many, at least in the last couple of seasons.
