This is why we shouldn’t “just pay the fee”.

If the reported figure above is correct, the money we have saved here, and on Tanguy, has effectively bought us Jack Clarke for free.

Gotta say, he drives a HARD bargain does our Daniel Levy. And that’s cool with me.

“Errr Boss, someone’s on the phone for you...”

“Who is it?”

“Levy”

“(Ah fuck...) Yes, thank you, Jeeves. I’ll take that in here. Buzz it through.”

“Certainly, boss.”

“Oh, And Jeeves...”

“Yes, Boss??”

“Fetch the KY jelly will you? This could leave me sore...”

I believe he does predominantly write about Arsenal.

Lo Celso was often used as a false nine upfront last term but prefers to play back in central midfield, where he was less effective in Spain

Yet some media observers in Spain believe Spurs are still taking a massive gamble despite getting Betis to lower their asking price – and he could find it difficult to adjust to the pace of the Premier League.

And yet most of the commenters I've seen think he's a real talent who lit up la liga and would be a top signing. A lot of Barca/Madrid fans comment saying they wanted him at their clubs. It's almost like he went searching for negative comments.

Whoscored also had him playing only 6 games as a false 9, Transfermarkt none.

Good question. Looking at squad usage (starts/appearances/minutes), and assuming Toby and Eriksen both stay, it would be as follows:

- we rode our luck on Eriksen last season and overplayed him - even being a key player his minutes/starts should reduce to a more healthy level

- either Wanyama sold, or Skipp loaned out (or both)

- Alli reducing minutes/apps due to not being played in sub-optimal positions

- Sissoko being less heavily relied upon at CM and being rotated a bit more frequently

- Dier covering for CB as well as CM (as Foyth gets used at RB)

That just about does it.

Good summary, although Sissoko still has a major part to play - and GLC and CE surely mean the end for Lamela.

Why you say the end for Lamela? In effect we’ve replaced Dembele with NDombele and Llorente with Lo Celso. Still plenty of space in the squad and more opportunity for rest and rotation without dropping our levels.

Poch likes 25 players, Lamela one too many in AM.

Nothing to do with FL, especially given the hopes for Parrott.
