Maybe in the states but not outside of the states beyond football fans (and even then, probably not a huge fraction of football fans either).

There seems to be this idea that whatever is big in the U.S is a commonly known thing everywhere else. Most football fans in the UK do not know who Alex Morgan is, not a single person I speak football with outside of this website mentioned her signing, not to say that it isn't a big deal for us to grow our brand. Hell most people over 40 do not know who Lebron James is, they know who Michael Jordan is but not Lebron.

It won’t be on the hour. It’ll leak 10-15mins before on social media/here and then they’ll announce properly on the hour once they redo their makeup on SSN.

To be honest, I’ve only heard about Tiger. Myself. Is that weird? But, I’m not American, and generally not interested in sports, with football as the huge exception.
So you haven't heard of Michael Jordan?

Thats....just not true. There are certain names that people recognize despite not following the sport in question. Even people who consider themselves "above sports" and act like anyone who watches is intellectually and emotionally inferior still know these names.

Kobe.
Tiger.
Brady.
LeBron
Serena
etc

Alex Morgan is one of those people, at least in my experience.

I use my mom (74) as a barometer. If she's heard of something/someone, then I think the large majority of people will know what it is.

She knows who all of those other people are. She does not know who Alex Morgan is.

Announcing on a Saturday when there's a shite load of games being played seems utterly pointless.

Of course you haven’t heard of Kobe, James or Serena. Such peripheral figures.

On a serious note though I will only forgive this wankstain of a delay and our Johnson’s paint trophy-level of PR management if Gareth emerges with his 2013 haircut
