It's hard to find the top corner from the treatment room tbf.

I like him as he has a bit of needle in him, we're still far too nice in the middle of the park IMO.

But he has had three seasons where he's played over 30 games for us.

Don't think he was ever as physically fit (or happy) as he is now, hip and back issues (especially) would affect pretty much everything a footballer would do on a pitch.

He had two full seasons prior to the hip injury, but doesn't matter, he's easily playing his best football since joining us.

Had a back problem in his first year, honestly feel like he's pretty much always been carrying some problem before coming back last season.

Either way, let's hope it continues...he's had Andertonesque luck.

That's quite the statement...hadn't heard anything like this before.

Half this thread was insisting it for months last year. It was a total shit-show.

Apparently he was either hepped up on goofballs and had been caught by a drugs test and was serving a suspension, or, in the eyes of some of our even more enlightened "fans", he must have been gay and had come out to the club but couldn't face it going public :singing:

Not the right thread I know.. but anyone have any idea what became of tiger666... been missing for 2 months. He gave me some grief in here but liked his posts.

Was one of the best posters on here for years, then suddenly and without warning went a bit mental and started aggressively policing the entire forum for no obvious reason.

I maintain he was kidnapped and someone's just been keeping up his online presence in the hope no-one would notice.

That’s shocking, saw in the trippier thread earlier someone refer to him as “a prick”. I mean really? Come on lads.

Erik's going great guns and making the difference in so many games, where there's been little to choose between us and the opposition.

Let's hope he stays fit and keeps contributing.

And some briefly came out of the woodwork to revel in Coco's miss Vs City. I don't think there is anything wrong if you don't have a particular affinity for a player. And I would say most on here have been guilty of lambasting Sissoko a little too freely. But what I can't understand nor condone is actually wanting a player to do badly in order to justify ones dislike of him. It got to a point certain people would prefer to be proven right about a inderviduals short comings instead of having a player turn out to be the real deal. That I find petty and pathetic. We are all supposed to be fans of this club and thusly want what is the best for it. If your own personal agenda against a player is more important then the success of your team, your not actually a fan, your a fraud. Anyway sorry for the rant.

If you could just paste this into pretty much every player thread, to add some perspective it would be appreciated. Completely agree.

In regards to Lamela, i don't know what more he needs to do to appease some of his critics - he's scoring and assisting regularly. His desire and attitude are great. His shithousery is absolutely top drawer. He's the complete package.

Nah, I think everyone here would be quite reasonable and forgiving about a solitary miss...

I have to admit I haven't been a Lamela fan over the last 6 years. But this season he's really upped his game. The (very effective) use of his right foot is evidence of a lot of hard work that has gone on behind the scenes - and full credit to him. Some of his inside forward play is Hazard-esque - and he's been doing it in a few games now.

Still has his faults - runs into trouble in central midfield positions (on counter attacks) and dithers on the ball too long, losing possession (happened twice against Wolves, for instance), but overall, he's a vastly superior player to previous seasons.

The concern for me is that

a) many of his supporters can't tell the difference between his previous ability and his newfound abilities e.g., use of his right foot

b) must we wait 5 years for each and every of our underperforming players to come good, just so people can say, "told you so"?
