On Boro forum, some Twitter guy is quoted as done deal, 15m plus add ons to 20m.
I still can't find out if Spence is in Portugal, but still suspect he isn't

Interesting to note how that article says we were looking to pay 10m and Gibson wanted 15m with add-ons, 2 weeks ago when it was posted. If all numbers reported are ~true then I can see why this hasn't gone through yet, with latest info suggesting Gibbo wants 20m with a bow tied on. Talk about moving the goalposts. #ThatOleChestnut

Seen similar on Boro' forums for nigh on a week now. One would think the media would've picked this up by now if it was indeed done.

Speculation me thinks.

Maybe yes, maybe no re the speculation. For sure I don't know ?
I do think the key clue ATM is whether he's in Portugal. Surely Boro forum or even official site will tell us today

Don't think him being in Portugal makes any difference and it's highly likely he's not going on their pre-season tour regardless of us.

Boro have zero intention of keeping him as he's not favoured there and they already have a first choice RWB in Isaiah Jones. Spence was given an extra week of holiday and I'm sure there were reports that him and a couple of other want-aways have been training separately from the team.

Whatever happens in pre-season, Boro 100% intend to get rid of him this summer and don't plan to reintegrate him into the squad.

Very intrigued to know who Conte's first choice would be at RWB. If it were down to me i'd just bring that player in and if we have to economise elsewhere then so be it. Lingard is still available on a free transfer, CM/RW is much less of a priority for me.

I dont know if its been mentioned but why was he actually loaned out to Forest?
It was mentioned an awful lot on here. Where have you been the last 7 months? If you are too lazy to go back to the first page of this thread (where that very question was answered in post #8 by razor1981) then here you go ...

Neil Warnock was Boro manager at the time. He said this about allowing Spence to leave on loan:

"I let him go. He needed to sort himself out, really.

"I basically said to him that you can go to the top or you can go non-league.

"I think Steve Cooper is the manager for him, to be honest. He has let him go forward more often, which suits his game."

Surely it would be cheaper now for him to buy himself out of his contract & for us to give him a sign on fee.
