I think people are looking for excuses. If this was about the managers choice, we would not be negotiating price. If Ange wants him, you pay the agreed upon price. If Ange does not want him, no price reduction would change that.

And if he wants to assess his options, yiu give him a bit of time.

Again, if this is about the manager you don’t negotiate a reduction. You can delay the decision without asking to pay less.

This is not about whether Postecoglou wants him or not. This is a financial decision.

You’re probably right.

Either way, I hope we keep him but not at a price that impedes other signings that the manager may prefer.

It's weird - the headline says we're trying to lower the price we pay to buy him but that doesn't sound like us at all.

This whole delay just sums up our ownership. Not conviction whatsoever.
To be fair though, Kulusevski did underperform quite a lot last season so they do have reasons to be unsure.

Personally I‘d hope it was perhaps down to the coaching, as he has shown what a class player he can be and perhaps with the shackles off and the side having a solid defence and pushing up more, he’ll shine.

I would hope we keep him.

Juve struggling financially innit...........
They might be - but surely they could sell Kulusevski on the open market for £35M.

So, I don't understand Juve's incentive to renegotiate. And, if nobody would pay £35M for Kulu, maybe we should not take him at all...

It seems like we're all so on edge these days.

The Kulu situation reminds me a bit of the situation with Postecoglou. Sacking our manager mid-season was not ideal, but Ange has plenty of time now to start fresh and work with the team during the whole of the preseason. It's not like we waited until the week before the start of the new season to appoint a new manager.

Similarly, with Kulu's situation, it's not like we're messing around a couple of weeks away from the start of the new season. It's June still. The new season kicks off in August.

I understand everyone feels worn down by everything that has happened during the last few years, and everyone is fed up with Levy's antics. But I think it's causing people to lose some perspective. People are defaulting to a "here we go again" mindset with almost everything.

Doesn't mean it'll stop us trying.

Most of Europe is broke. They could to prem clubs but surely they’d rather just save time have us pay a smaller fee have the money wrapped up for a player they don’t want

Levy probably trying to extend the loan period to push the payment down the line - a few million for the next couple of years loans and payment of the fee if we get loads of cash in.

If he's really happy at the club and keen to stay then we've got quite a lot of leverage. Especially if there aren't any other clubs making offers that appeal to Kulu.

What we're doing is a bit cheeky but also very typical Levy thing to do.
