I thought as much, don't think we really need him at the moment,
Walker, Chiriches, Naughton and Dier all able at RB.
Why add to the wage bill? Especially if we are going for a forward this window.
He will join in the summer I think.
Just seen on ssn that we have got a work permit sorted for him to join in august. Still could change but I would go with this so far.
He is joining in January. It's been confirmed by the MLS.

It's hard to imagine Yedlin and Lamela playing together on the right side. That could cause some defensive woes, I'd venture to say.

Lamela works very hard defensively. As for communication, part of Yedlin's family is Dominican. I wouldn't be surprised if he grew up with Spanish in his household. It's very common over here.

If we're set up to attack down that side, with Lamela coming in and Yedlin overlapping, then the right sided holding mid should be sitting back waiting to cover that area in case of a break. We're using 2 of them, so they have to have an understanding of when to go up and stay back between them.

So for those of us who have never properly seen him play, how good is this guy/how good can he become? He's obviously blessed with a fair bit of pace, but what's his defensive game like? Back up to Walker and Naughton, or likely to be pushing for a starting spot?

I need answers.

Awesome news he is joining in jaunary, he has looked great for the USA team and is lightning fast. I expect some time to bed in and get the hang of the league and the europa league but he has played a good few international games and played in the world cup where he looked comfortable.

More than fact he is lightening fast, its his crossing ability I am so impressed with

USA Vs Belgium World cup game.
Look at his pin point crosses from right side, coming at such pace. This is something we do not have.

Put him in right wing & Walker at Right Back. They would be explosive and we would be playing at lightening pace & am sure opposition would be rattled IMHO.

But then he has to prove he is good enough in PL. Onus is on him. But I can see a great raw talent, if nurtured properly could be the buy of the season.

I'd expect him to be in training pictures now. He's been in London for about a month, he should be eligible to train with the first squad now.
