If we really have to sell Rose it better be for more than 25-30, that would be a shocking deal.

45/50m minimum IMO.

I really cannot see the logic in selling him this window, make him wait till next season
Walker went for £50m to the richest club in the world, whilst at the top of his game with a very good injury record.

Danny Rose hasn't had a consistent season, isn't even our first choice LB, has had injuries and is now a year older than Walker.

I'll be amazed if anyone buys him for £45-50m.

Why do you all keep ignoring the posts from Hercules that he will struggle to pass a medical ?

Georgiou has been looking sharp whenever I've seen him and if Poch trust him to be our "offensive" LWB and Davies as the more steady and defensive player I am all for selling Rose for a decent fee. He can't stay fit and there is still that interview last summer.

Having said that, I would not be surprised in the slighest if we swap Rose for Shaw and some cash as he is completely broken and need a new start.

Even if we liked Shaw, which we haven’t really had any indication of, his wages are waaay too high for a risky broken backup player, ~130k by reports from around the time he signed. How big of a pay cut is he going to be willing to take to play with Poch again? Because a player with that much risk is gonna have a high percentage of his wages as “performance bonuses”.

Edit: then again, other sources say 70k, which is a lot more reasonable. Guess we’ll see.

He looked very good going forward but defensively he was poor imo. He certainly looks better as an attacker. I really hope he is not the replacement.

For a start, the club have had that opinion about a lot of players in the last, yet the seem to pass them at other clubs (players like Remy, Austin etc.)

Guys, I highly doubt Ogilvie or Georgiou are replacing our international left back. We all love a youth player emerging, but we're about to play a third back to back Champions League campaign. Being an injury away from Georgiou against Mbappe is something I'm sure the club wouldn't risk.

I think if Rose wanted to prove a point to Poch and win his place back he should of returned to pre season early like other lads have done. (Henderson, Barkley Jones etc) He was in the papers saying he hates being injured and not involved. A good attitude and pre season and seeing him fully fit I'm sure he'd be back in team in no time. I get the impression the love in with Poch is over and he wants out.

In fairness, that description would have been spot on for a 22 year old Danny Rose.
True, although i don't think he's not as quick as Rose and that helped him out a lot when first moved to LB. I would also say we are in a much better position now then we were back then so i don't think Georgiou would cut it as our number two especially considering how much Poch likes to rotate his wing backs. More chance of KWP becoming number two but i have my doubts with him playing LB.

You can't compare RLC coming back early, he needs to kickstart his Chelsea career.

I am not sure Rose or even Davies could handle Mbappe convincingly. Evidence suggests in last 1.5 years, Rose is nowhere his level of Dec 2016. We already have Davies as no1 who has been solid & consistent for us in that position. What we need is a 2nd left back or LWB who can challenge Davies. Georgiou looks very good going forward. Last night game he was again impressive. Numerous time, he dribbled well past defenders - attimes even beat 2 Milan players on outside and got away with the ball. Defensively, he needs to tighten up.

We have the full back whisperer in Poch :) who does his magic on almost every full back he coached. So, am sure he could make Georgiu defensively better.

I would trust Georgiou, Aurier, KWP all share the 2nd left back duty. If we sell Rose, we could invest it elsewhere in squad.

Was just saying that i think players who have little game time would of come back earlier other players have done it for other teams and having dier back early would help us out massively

Yeah I get that. We don't know what Poch has suggested though. It has been difficult with the US tour, plus we'll be taking a group to Spain at the weekend. Maybe a few guys will come back when we return from the US, you'd think some would be itching to get involved with the start so near.

Plus Dier was probably told he could have a long break before Wanyama's injury.

I couldn't disagree more...that would be a horrible set of options.

Don't forget Vertonghen.
