This loan looks to be just what he needed.
Manager and fans seem to have taken to him and he's hit the ground running.
A successful loan is soooo important for a young players development, so let's hope this continues.
We saw the same with Skippy... I agree ? ... hopefully we can benefit from it next season with Scarlett... would be a perfect way to return and be ready for rotation.

Looks like Cowley was spot on, once he got his first he would go on a bit of a run. 4 in 3 now I think. Before that his movement and pressing was already being noticed and showing his ability. Without jumping the gun... Pompey could worry we will recall him and send him to a championship side in January :D

Really going to be good for him, getting games, being worked against first teamers

Some clearer highlights, the movement in the highlight for the 2nd goal where he was hoping the defender would play him straight through, the readjust and the way he finished. I can see why Jose and Conte were both extremely excited for his future. He looks very confident at the moment, I hope he keeps going. I'm not sure if there needs to be much importance placed on League 1 or Championship because this kid is going to the top regardless it seems.

Portsmouth is a really good loan move for him - good club good staff and good fans - it would be great if he could be part of a promotion team there - next season in the championship then back to us - he really looks like he has a chance

Maybe, if we have the option. But the thing with Scarlett. Who I think it depends on what the function of this loan is. If it's to get him used to the men's game then maybe it's best to let him be settled in his loan move and do well.

When Jermaine Defoe was loaned out to league 1 they allowed him to play at Bournemouth the whole season. Next season he went straight into the first team and got 10 goals in 30.

Maybe it's my eyes, but I think it looked like he just was stronger than the defender. Can't really see a foul without any close up replays.

Two footed, good in the air, technically good and looks like he has a pass on him as well as the vision to see it. I'll be following this kid with interest this season.

If he can strengthen a little bit and maintain his pace and athleticism, we could have another great homegrown player...

Hoping Dane will play this evening as am heading down for the PJT match at Fratton Park (should be about a handful of people plus his dog there). I imagine he will be sub at the most

He wasn't in the matchday squad for the 5-0 win

Apparently the ipswich manager was praising him after the game at the weekend.

Indeed he was.

Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna described him as 'one of the best young strikers in world football'.

In so doing, he was no doubt reflecting on the excellent youth coaching that Dane had received at Tottenham's academy which had helped him reach those heights, including from such outstanding coaches as, er, Kieran McKenna...

:D
