Don't know why people worry about international games so much when they could easily get injured in our matches or in training. He went off with a head injury in our game v Brentford. There's a risk every time players play a game of football.
So... the more matches a player plays, the greater the risk... which is why people worry...

Sure, but he could easily pull up in one of our games or be on the end of a bad tackle in training here.

Based on the clips, he seems to have stepped up his passing. He seems to be playing some lovely passes through the lines.
He was always making those passes between the lines, the only difference being is the way we are coached to play now is conducive to other players being around the guy receiving the ball to pop it off to and go again, where as when he was making them before, the "move" was breaking down as no one was around the guy receiving the ball other than defenders, so not only did the ball in have to be perfect but so did the player receiving it.

I'm not disputing that... but there being risk in any match is precisely why playing fewer matches reduces the risk.

That's probably a fair comment. Put skipp and Hojbjerg in front of him and he can't make those passes.

Also, this guy:

You know what this means…. come January he’ll be linked with Madrid, Barca & Bayern etc non-stop until he eventually goes after 20 years.

I’ll take that 👀

I love the fact that strikers must go into matches against us thinking ‘Shit, I’m probably going to end up with 7 fractures in each leg and 4 in my face’. Must affect them psychologically.

He’s a good foil for Porro too. They combine well together. And you can see how well the psych each other up!!

Have you seen a CONMEBOL match?

He will take you down with a crunching tackle and then scream in your face for going down. It's like when a wrestler knocks someone down and then tells them "get up". Don't knock me down then.

Has been amazing all season and deserves all the plaudits he gets. He has been everywhere breaking up attacks, snuffing out anything potential for the opponent before it even starts, and getting back and putting out fires covering for his teammates. On top of that his passing, goal contributions, and leadership? Can't say anything more. So happy he is with us and long may it continue

I had always thought that 1. He could play in a 2 with a competent partner and 2. He would calm down and show his class much more once we played him next to someone he could rely on being just as solid as he is. The partnership of him and VDV is so excellently balanced. Romero reads the game excellently both ways but excels on the front foot whereas VDV excels sweeping in behind with his pace. It really is a wonderfully balanced partnership that has a bit of everything. I really think they could be envied by the rest of the league just as much as Toby and Jan, if not more in a couple years time once they are a truly well oiled machine

No decision to be made. If he’s got a knock he needs to come back straight away. Sounds as if he’s got a pain in the arse!

I think most are in agreement that Romero and Maddison are our two most important players to how we play at the moment.

So an injury to one of them makes alot of sense 🙄
