Lets hope he's figured out how to handle Salah a bit better before we play Liverpool

Agree but this is a few years back. Salah has changed a bit, Lenglet probably has too and there will be others helping him out plus coaching. I choose to be optimistic here.

No option to buy would seem to confirm that this is an emergency option to tide us over until next summer when we can hopefully get one of our actual LCB targets.

Interested to see if that changes and we insert an option to buy.

"As of now". We're not going to loan and develop a player that we don't have a choice to buy at the end of the loan. I'd expect this is one item that's holding up the final agreement.
I'd be surprised if this was the case just because it's quite a big deal, Fabrizio doesn't really do his 'here we go' thing unless the deal is 99% certain.

I really like the idea of signing Lenglet on loan, but without an option to buy the upside is capped and therefore it is hard to get excited.

When was the last time we loaned a player without an option? Frazier Cambell?

Here we go…. But clubs still sorting out details? So we are EXACTLY where we were a few days ago since romano’s last tweet on this!?

I think Romano gets uneccessary stick at times but this summer he is taking the reposts of the same information to another stupid level. Post once it is almost there and then only post again when it’s 100% complete you numpty!

Not necessarily, no obligation would suggest this but an option would just give us the choice to sign him permanently or not and if one of our main targets for LCB are available next summer we simply don't take up the option.

I would think that Barca would like an obligation but we only want a option. Or maybe we’ve already agreed on an option but just negotiating the price.

No option does seem quite strange to me given how desperate Barca are to get rid, I'd have thought we would put one in there even if a bit overpriced just to cover ourselves?

I think he’s seen the Barca official say “just waiting for announcement” and he’s not got his ‘here we go’ in yet, so he’s done a semi here we go

It seems to me that we just want to get the loan aggreement done before we fly out to korea. I am pretty certain the "option" we could even negotiate in a second step if that's proving to be difficult atm.

To be honest without an option I’m even less keen than I was already. Great passer but on the evidence of the last couple of years he’s a bad defender and I think this will likely get highlighted even more in the prem. Plus we don’t even get to take advantage if turns it around with us.

Maybe I'm missing something but from what I am reading (tbf haven't followed his carrier) he's had more bad seasons than good ones and is on pretty hefty wages. If we're not signing a clear upgrade why not buy a talent for the now and the future like N'dicka?

No option seems to indicate this is even more of a stop gap than we thought....not great.

Season starts in 4 weeks or so and still yet to sign that top CB the defense really needs.

If you really think we are going to shell out the best part of 7-10m. And we have no terms in our favour, everyone is very sadly, ill-advised, and misguidedly mistaken!
