Levy would've been shat on from a great height by the fanbase if he'd sold Eriksen in previous seasons ("small club mentality", "selling our best players", etc). I don't know what he's supposed to do if Eriksen and Toby refuse to accept every contract offered to them.

Agreed

And we all know which Admin would be amongst the first to unbuckle their belt, pull down the trousers and assume a squatting postion.

Eriksen's contract run right down
Toby's contract run right down

Massive risk of losing both for fuck-all and even if we get anything it'll be nowhere near market value.

Who do we blame for this? Obviously there's no blame to be attached to Daniel 'we'll never get caught out again like Sol caught us out' Levy so I'm wondering who's to blame for this wholly unsatisfactory situation :cautious:
I think we’re going to see this loads more in the coming years. Players realising how much power they have and seeing Ramsey on £400k a week. Eriksen could go this summer for £250k or next for £400k. Of course, he’s backing himself and taking a risk, injuries, form etc could make it a bad move but I can see why they do it with a year to go.

It's hard to put blame if people just won't sign the deals, although personally I feel Levy needs to look at the teachings of Suge Knight and how he dealt with Vanilla Sky personally.
What did he do? Turn it off half way through?

What would you have done if they both turned down very good offers but also both turned down potential transfers out in front of them/ nobody came in for them?
Sidestepping the fact that I clearly said you can't blame Levy**...........I have no idea, just as you have no idea who may or may not have come in for them. Sometimes you know, it's OK to point at your dad and say "I think you fucked up". It's no big deal, I don't want him assassinated or anything. I'm not assembling a mob to run him out of the club, I think he's made a mistake, even he can do that you know, he's not the shining knight of fucking everything.

Fuck me, you really can't even slightly criticise him around here.

I think he fucked up. There. *Stamps foot and pokes tongue out :D

**There, I lied, I do blame Levy :woot: Fuck me, that'll have them mobilising the troops.

I was just asking you for a solution, didn’t mean to tickle your arsehole ;)

Lady summers transfer window, huge fuck up.

Hoddle, Jol sackings, Ramos hiring, and the way the Bale money was spent on an unnecessary overhaul, also huge fuck ups. Delays to the stadium build and hence, stadium opening, because he was haggling over property prices which will have ultimately cost us more in millions than he saved on those properties, definitely his fault, at least in part.

Toby and Eriksen, simply a sad reality that they don’t feel their ultimate ambitions will be served during their careers at Spurs and they’ve leveraged the evolution of the transfer market into what it has become to get what they feel they are due.

You might say our wage structure needs to loosen up, I’d add that if Kane is happy to sign until he’s 31, then it’s just fine.

You may want to check the name you used? :ROFLMAO:

Hahaha my early start is killing me today, It was Vanilla Ice

His first big profit in the business came when Vanilla Ice (Robert Van Winkle) agreed to sign over royalties from his smash hit "Ice Ice Baby", because the song included material allegedly written by Knight's client Mario Johnson. Knight and his bodyguards confronted Van Winkle several times. On one occasion, Knight entered Van Winkle's hotel room and allegedly dangled him by his ankles off the balcony.

Eriksen thinks he’s good enough for Real Madrid and running his contract down will help that move.
Toby nearer the end of his career than his peak.

They cost us £22m between them in transfers and neither were on huge money, apparently (mainly due to the fact they wouldn’t sign a new contract).

The club (and particularly the manager) want young, hungry players with good attitudes. And a little bit of VFM, granted. We all know that.

Maybe there is no blame. Arguably the situation isn’t wholly unsatisfactory.

What you think about a trade eriksen - coutinho?

Eriksen want to Spain and some rumours are that Barcelona try to sell rakitic so maybe it will be a spot open for eriksen ?

So they wanted a loan fee at 30m, but they would be willing to trade him against a player they aren't after anyway?

Toby has been poorly advised. If info to be believed, he turned down a contract worth 80k+ per week more than his current deal....and here is the key, that was 2.5 years ago. It has cost him 10 million so far approx. By the time he is a free agent 3.5 years will have passed. That is about 14 million in lost money. He could have banked that with a new 4.5 year deal and still been a free agent in summer 2021.

As for Eriksen, maybe Real pick him up on a free next summer but what does that say about his ability to get in the team? Maybe Juve a better option?

That’s what I’ve been repeating to my wife since we got married: “you knew what I was when you married me”.

You have your wedding photo as your avatar so you are more loyal to your wife than some. I have been married for 4 years and have 2 kids from before that and even my phone wallpaper is Sonny!

Zidanne obviously not interested in him he is kind of embarrassing himself...
