I gave him man of the match against Swansea because IMO he played the best game for us for long time. It was almost serendipity seeing him playing in a defensive midfield with Dier. From this position he was awesome, where his running into space from deep started most of our offensive plays. No wonder there were 34 shots at goal. Credit where and when credit is due so more of this please!

Is this linked to the fact that Alli had a subdued game?

If he continues impressing in the deeper CM role he should have fully nailed it in 2 years, which would be 26....

....by that time modric will be 33ish and need to be replaced by Madrid...

I'm kidding. don't punch me.

Have to say the Eriksen thread should be more active

This guy has been immense second half of the season and some of his passing has been world class. Stepped up after a so so start to the season and been pulling the strings superbly. Under appreciated I think given the focus on Kane, Alli etc

Thanks for tagging me, did you want to discuss the terrible miss in the first half, multiple set pieces that didn't get past the first man or him losing possession in the middle of the park? 2 good assists today but the Stoke defence were less organised than you and WhiteDane fighting over Eriksen's soggy biscuit.

The only reason you're not on my ignore list is because you spend so much time on here half the conversations would go missing.

He drops deeper than before and you can see he can impact the game more, the ball to Alli's dinked goal was fucking lovely.

In a world where you can find a positive in everything I take that as nothing but a compliment. I hope that the day natural selection catches up with the window lickers such as yourself comes sooner rather than later.

He had a great match. Funny thing about when he was clean through - it was the most un-Eriksen like finish. I almost just expect him to caress the ball into a corner when he's got a chance, rather than thwack it down the the middle.

He might be the most underrated player in the league this season. He's at the heart of all our best attacking moves and without him I don't think we would be anywhere near where we are now, Absolutely criminal that Coutinho gets nominated for YPOTY and all the plaudits before he does when Erisken is a ridiculously better player.

Yeah he is so underrated. There is a reason why every manager use him as much as they can. Rarely giving him breaks or taking him out. He is so important at keeping possession and starting our attacks. His link up play is incredible and it feels like he can always find a pass no matter how tight a situation he is in. He moves the ball so well and most importantly manage to do it fast. It's such an underrated skill.

Also the amount of worldly assists this season. Both feet, inch perfect. He really has taken a step up this season. It also helps that we finally have a great attacking four in him, Kane, Alli and Lamela. Eriksen really benefits from having great teamates who makes runs and finish. Lot more movement this season. A lot of times earlier he would find himself in the last third with everyone just standing still.

It's daylight robbery that he isn't nominated with Kane and Alli. Fucking Ross Barkley got a nomination. But then again, it might help us to keep him if he isn't getting much coverage and acclaim. At this point i feel like we wont lose him unless one of the bigger international clubs comes in with an offer and he wants to see if he can take that last step up. Difficult to say no if barca offers him a chance to be Iniestas succesor.

If you look at the replay in slow-mo, it was actually a much more difficult chance than it first appeared

Eriksen never had 100% control over the ball as it got trapped under his feet, and then it bobbled as he hit it

Ho-hum, these things happen I guess

Is he underrated? I see him playing nearly every game for us, and being the fulcrum for nearly every attack we make. He's like Modric, only more attacking. Subtle movement, incredible vision, impressive work rate... In a team of technical grafters, his is the cutting edge craft that brings it all together. Best footballer in the squad imo.

Has peaks and troughs which, to be fair, so do most of our players. Reason Eriksen is singled out for his poor performance is because, when he plays well, we win. He's that important. If the highs weren't so high, we wouldn't notice the lows.

He isn't half the player Modric is, but that doesn't tell us much considering Luka is far and away the best midfielder in the world, and they play in completely different positions :p
