[AS] Real Madrid have dropped all interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen despite Spurs closing in on the transfer of Dani Ceballos. In between negotiations for Dani Ceballos between the two clubs Eriksen’s name was never raised as part of a deal.

Sounds pretty ominous, but could be RM playing games. You'd be certain we could only use 2 out of Eriksen, Ceballos and Lo Celso, even if Lo Celso was seen as a forward player. Depth would be Man City level though :ROFLMAO:

Edit: Just checked and can't see this on their website.

We don't, we are clearly plate spinning imo.

We want two I reckon and we aren't gonna let Madrid's hesitancy/ Eriksens issues mess it up for us late in the window.

Not necessarily. Remember we need squad depth. Last season it was pathetic. We had kids on the bench every week. When we wanted to change a game we were bringing on Skipp.

Herc has said GLC coming in is not dependent on Eriksen going. Ceballos sounds like a loan to buy, so I don’t see why we can’t have all three in the squad.

Madrid are playing the media imo, Eriksen basically handed them all the cards and so they have this situation wrapped around their finger and can explore Pogba, so I imagine in a few weeks time, they will be linked properly and it'll be over in 48 hours. I reckon spurs know this and are preparing for the inevitable.

I love this dream world, but realistically you cannot go into a season with Eriksen, Alli, Sissoko, Ndombele, Winks, Dier/Wanyama, Ceballos, Lo Celso, Lamela, Moura, Son and possibly Sessegnon.

W need more depth, but players still want to play. Even City don't have those numbers. Not to mention all 3 are non HG players.

We needed a CM badly last summer but no one could have legislated for Dier to be hit with appendicitis at the busiest part of the season, only to then get injured and then another virus.

Last year was a total cluster with fatigue, form and injuries, we somehow got through it but on the whole I think it showed our depth wasn't as bad as some make out. It was a whole squad effort, especially in the CL run.

Don't get me wrong, we do need to make more serious improvements like Ndombele to compete on four fronts, but the solution is more about improved quality than improved numbers.

If we did end up with all those players (unlikely imo) I guess at least 2 of Wanyama dier and lamela would be off.

Are AS the Spanish tabloid that is basically Madrid’s mouthpiece? Or am I thinking of another rag?

If it is then this could easily just be nothing more than a negotiating tactic.

The key is not to lose Eriksen without compensation
As everyone says that's obvious but is it acceptable to United instead of RM getting him for nowt?
I think it is

No idea how we do Eriksen, Lo Celso and Ceballos.

We won't but if Eriksen signs a new contract and we got Ceballos (on the assumption that Lo Celso is unrealistic if we keep Eriksen), I would be absolutely delighted with that.

Just don't see why Eriksen would leave us at this stage to go to United, he's never been all about the money (and we pay much better than we used to anyway) and we surely look a better bet football wise at the moment.
