The effort has always been there from Christian, it just hasn't been happening for him of late.. He looked good today, actually won a 50/50 challenge and he spread the ball around well. His goal was good as well, he pretty much sprinted from 10 yards in his own half to get into position to score.

We all know he’s a key player for us which is why it’s all the more galling when he plays so poorly.

I mean he had 3 assists from 15 games in the league before today. I dont know why people get their nose bent out of shape when people suggest hes not been playing to the level we expect of him as of late. Fingers crossed with our midfield, dele and Kane fit he can finish the season strong.

No one disputes that he's not been playing well. It's just this he's not very good / he's not trying because he's leaving narrative that I don't subscribe to. He's having a streak of poor form, the likes of which he's had numerous times before.

Ah yeah im not going to attempt to claim I know the reason for his form but I do think the 40,000 formations we have played this season is helping nobody.

Im concerned that our creative players are giving Kane little to work from, hes spraying balls about plenty for everybody else.

This sums it up perfectly really. I don't think its wrong to be criticising him ,but its irritating to hear how his head is elsewhere blah blah blah when he does play badly. We have Toby possibly off and playing well, whilst a number of other players have been poor at times, despite no questions over future. The correlation is lazyyyy.

He did a lot better last night, early on he misplaced a pass and there was a collective groan around me. An awful free kick in the second half but all in all he was very good.

I've been critical of him but only because I expect more, he has as much talent as anybody but for me doesn't always show the application. I don't want him to be sold, I don't hate him, I simply want him to be the player he could be not somebody who drifts in and out of games.

That ball to Lucas in the 90 minute was up there with this one. Unbelieveable he didn't score that. And that was with his left foot.

I don't think anybody doubts his ability, I've been concerned about his performances and its a legitimate concern.

The thing is that Eriksen alone hasn't been poor. Can anyone with a straight face say that Dele and Kane have played up to their own standard these past months? I can't. Similarly to Eriksen Kane and Alli have been chipping in with assists and goals but their overall play have been lacking.

Football is a team sport and we have been collectively bad up front. Let's just accept that and now kick on.
