So are we thinking this may solidify Sessegnon as a LB/LWB moving forward? Kind of felt that was how things were moving and this move kind of looks like it to me. I personally hope so.

Seems a lot of money to spend on a player we might not use much then, when apparently we dont have much cash and need to reinforce defence and central midfield.

We'll obviously use him but it's not going to be guaranteed starter. He clearly has a lot of developing to do.

I don't agree central midfield needs reinforcing btw.

Levy: Step aside Fabio, this is where I come in...

"Talks break down over Bryan Spurs move"

Fingers crossed we get there - we really need someone with genuine skill and creativity. How quickly he'll be able to adapt and impact the first team is a totally different matter, let alone who he'll be crossing to in the box!

Checking r/soccer, loads of people with La Liga flairs are saying Sevilla are absolutely bonkers to let him go.

I know it's a small sample size, but it seems that people who watch him regularly really rate him and think he's going to be a huge player in the future. I'd take that opinion over anyone on here guessing he's shit because Sevilla haven't played him much.

I think it does massively but I won’t derail the thread.

Let’s see if this guy comes if he can play himself into the side, you never know.

Bryan Gill already has 3 Spain caps and has been playing in their WC qualifiers. He is playing in Fati & Olmo position. Spain set up certainly rate him. He will take time to adjust. But certainly some big expectations on him. Hope we sign him and he settles well

from the multiple analyses i’ve read, seems most believe his best position will end up being as a 10 or starting on the right floating into the center

On Physicality, this is not pre-2000 era where league is extremely physical. Title is being won by City, most of their key midfielders are not physical players. What is important is, if he is mentally strong. If he is mentally strong, he will do well in PL.
Nuno might slowly bed him like he did with Neto in 19/20

This is so spot on! The Premier league is still faster than most leagues but definitely not much rougher. I think it's a case of old reputation. Phil Foden is tiny but was superb last season and will no doubt continue to be

From a Sevilla fan.

I am certainly not happy with this. Smells like Lopetegui has no place for him, which leaves Monchi with no choice but to cut a deal... Think Bryan has a low clause.

I remember reading somewhere that Paratici scouts a lot at youth tournaments. We all see kids that come through that are ahead of the curve at a young age and dominate but being able to really find players that have natural ability but aren’t quite developed is much tougher because they aren’t in the spotlight as much.

The fact that Gil hasn’t played much for Sevilla doesn’t scare me, he perhaps wasn’t considered due to being less developed but looks like he has talent in bucketfuls. Also wouldn’t read too much into him looking like a left sided winger. Bale was too at that age but he’ll be developed into whichever role suits us.

I guess this is one of those 'now or never' signings, a bit like Modric.

If you see true red hot potential and there's a window in which it's available sometimes you just need to sign the player regardless of whether they are in a priority position. Sometimes this can go too far (e.g. Arsenal signing Auba AND Lacazette for big money) but 20 million quid isnt exactly breaking the bank, and it also gets Lamela off the books.

We also havent tended to make too many signings like this in recent years. Reminds me quite a lot of the Modric and Bale signings of yonder.

Reguillon was similar last year. Wasn't a priority position and he seemed a lot of money given the financial climate but we still went big for him.
If there is a highly regarded youngster out there, we get it done.

So he looks like someone from the 60s. We're doing the double this season.

Never heard of the kid but if it is true and he is as good as people are saying and we are told Sevilla were happy with the Kounde / Sanchez reverse deal too even if the player isn't, you have to think maybe the talks between the clubs have been rather amicable.
Makes a change.

Gil?! Jesus Christ Paratici is an absolute don.

This kid is a baller, get excited folks. Barca and City have been tracking him for a couple of seasons and he's already good enough to start for us at 20. I'm so impressed this is so good
Your post made me watch the video in the post above yours. I avoid those until a signing is done but you got me excited. He ain't gonna come now.

I can't think what has changed to make our transfer interactions more constructive...
