I think Davies is at the point in his career where he needs to kick on now, the injury last season ruined him which is a shame as he the season before whilst Rose was injured he had a good run of quality games where although he isn't the most athletic fullback, he made good passes and clever runs. I think this is a big season for his career and hopefully he shows he's got the level to compete at spurs. Regardless of how the season goes though, it's a good idea to offer him the contract.

If we want to sell him next season or the season after that, there would be plenty of PL clubs that would be interested.

A new contract maintains his market value, so from a pure business point of view this makes sense.

Davies is also a very good CB.

So, a versatile footballer offering cover in more than 1 position, who works his balls off and never ever complains. Why would you move him on? He offers Pochettino the ability to mix it up in the case of injuries, tactics etc.

Great news that both Davies and Winks have signed new contract extensions

So important to tie valuable squad players like Davies down to long term contracts. You're not going to get much better than him as a back up LB, and he knows he'll get game time as Poch loves to rotate FB's.

Not a big name player by any means, but his dedication to the club has never been in doubt.

Let’s not forget he played most of the season carrying an injury. Seems he wasn’t the only one too.

He tries hard and rarely lets us down. If injury free and he gets back to the form that pushed him in front of Rose a couple of years ago then great.
In the pecking order he was never in front of a fit and in form Rose.

Pleased for the guy
Does not appear to make a fuss if in team or not - a solid professional that all clubs need in their squad

I think he'll replace Jan at some point. He can play he just doesn't have the pace or ability to beat a man to be the type of wing-back our football requires.

Massively underrated player. Deserves the deal and when he gets a run he’s absolutely fine in both directions. Fun fact, no other fullback has as many assists in a league season for us as he did in 17/18.

He is a great squad player, he knows his plays and always give all. A bit to cautious sometimes but a solid back up. Also very likeable.

Great news. League winning squads are made up of more than just your Harry Kanes. Pleased to see he has been rewarded for his service

Everton wanted him before Digne, wolves also looked at him I believe.

But I don’t see him ever leaving us unless he is pushed out or told to leave.
