Yeah I thought he did really well. Still think Broadway Danny Rose has the higher ceiling but there is an argument that Davies is the sounder option in a game that requires discipline defensivley like against a top tier side in the league. Nice options to have.

So solid. Such a different option to Rose.
Looking top top drawer now he's getting a run in the team.

I am starting to trust him as a player now. Rose is better going forward but still kinda scares me.

Best game by far but again, I would like to see him consistently reach, or nearly reach, this level in most matches hereon.

Despite my general misgivings over him and Walker long term, you can see the benefit of having a settled back four in play, coupled with a superb 'keeper in Lloris although Dier's role cannot be overstated either in giving added protection at the back.

Best game today by a long way and very happy for him, however it's Rose all day long for me. Love the way Rose never bottles out of a challenge and he has improved as a LB no end in the last couple of years. His 'take no shit' attitude can rub off on other players too. But it's great to have 2 very good LB's battling it out.

If there is one thing Spurs fans do exceptionally well is write a player off before they've even been given a run out. And I include myself in that.

Fantastic performance but Rose is still the main man. Whens the last time Rose had a bad game, freakishly consistent. Great problems to have!

Poor on the ball, but he has a tactical defensive knowledge that Rose will never have. Thats what Poch sees and loves.

Technically he's very good and can pass and move better than Rose - got a good education at Swansea, and he probably has more composure in certain situations as well.

Rose is more dynamic, quicker and more powerful - his pace can get him out of situations as well. He's definitely more attacking than Davies.

I personally prefer Rose but Davies was excellent yesterday, and perhaps Poch will be flexible in terms of when he uses them - tactically etc.

I've been critical of Ben in the past but he was solid vs Man City. Exactly what we needed with Eriksen on that wing.

Exciting times as we now have excellent competition for every position bar Harry's.

A big piece of that report is the aerial duels won. Rose can outjump or outmuscle most of his opponents. Davies is a bit weaker in that category. One play against Man C Davies went up for a headed, lost, and his flank was left exposed.

Now I am not saying Rose doesn't leave us exposed, but he does win duels at a better rate.

He absolutely shut down Kone against Everton which says a lot cause Kone is a beast of a man.

Love the comp, but Rose for me every time. He just offers the whole package as I think he is just as strong positionally.

I think that's fair. Rose needs to cut out the errors he's made since coming back from his injury though to get the prem starts back off of Davies.

Carrier-bag, last week? He and Trippier both looked shaky but in general i think we have great options at FB on both sides.

That was my favourite performance of his for us so far. Full of energy and purpose last night. Looks right up for the battle with Rose now for #1.
