We are crying out for a pacy attacker able to beat a defender:.. him and Porro would inject much needed dynamics in the team.

I have been able to go back and watch some games of him from last season and I have to say that this one is puzzling me a little.

I could be wrong.

All of his best work comes from the left and I don't see Conte dropping Son for him, he's not even dropped him for Richarlison. He may do soon though.
Yes, he can play centrally but let's face it Kane will always start there and Richy may get some minutes there too.

About his performances. Well, he is better with his back to goal than Son but I'd argue Son (or Son from last season) is far better in the final third. He does link play better as he is more thoughtful with his actions and moves the ball faster than Son.

He can take on his man, sure, but some of the games I saw he struggled against athletic strong FBs who had a step ahead of him.

But, again, I just don't see Conte dropping Son or even pushing Richarlison back for this guy.

The club may have been following him for some time but I highly doubt Conte really wants him and as it's a 6-month loan, I don't see him being given enough time on the pitch unless we get injuries.

I hope I am wrong but I'd prefer a player who can come off the right.

On the other hand, I watched some of Porro's games back and I think he is exactly what we need. Quick, technically brilliant and can cross from deep/cut back/early or across goal with consideration.

Just reeks of no planning, couldnt be much if he was practically signed for Everton before we made our move. Hopefully not, but looks like another of Levy's bargain so called low risk moves, but who knows.

Looks more like Traore-lite to me, but with an end product. Seems very happy to muscle past and outpace a man, which would work a lot better than Sonny at the moment given we're not playing to run onto anything which is where it looks like he's suffering.
So not like Traore then? Traore with end product would be an unbelievable player btw.

I seem to recall getting linked last summer, not from good sources mind. Thing is he was being touted for €40m, or at least that's what Wham tried to get him for and if we'd have signed him then a lot of us would have been really excited.

He's fallen out with his coach, had injuries which has affected his form this season. None of that is good and needs to be carefully monitored during the loan.

I don't like how this has come about but do like the player. I really do wonder if this is Levy or Paratici, it feels Levy like as we could swap him for Lo Celso in the summer if we want to, but surely Fabio is involved too? Unless he's all but suspended until he sorts out his business...?

I've seen him being likened to Stevie and I see that, but again I thought Stevie was a really good technical player, however he looked lost and I don't think he had the attitude or maybe determination/belief to succeed in a bigger league. Has to be said he wasn't helped by the chaotic manager changes during his time here.

Opportunistic is fine sometimes (Scum have just done the same after failing with Mudryk) but our transfer dealings recently have seemed to be more reactive than proactive which is a concern.

I want Levy gone I really do but I don't think this transfer should be the straw that breakz the camels back. That happened a long time ago for most so hopefully this fella won't be scapegoated or used as ammo.

I think he will do OK but wont pull up any trees.

There is no real downside to this one, certainly worth the risk, I'd liken it to the kulusevski signing although much lower profile.

However, after reading the ridiculous comments on here, I really hope he rips it up, if he does do well, I wonder if the same people who were saying fuck off levy, will be saying well done levy (even though it was probably paratici anyway)

I also wonder if there is a correlation between the posters who are against this signing and the ones who were criticising kulusevski after 45 minutes of football.

There'll be plenty of time to stick the knife in on levy and Enic, infact there's plenty of time now, but perhaps shitting on a new signing is not the best way to do it.

I'm just happy we've signed someone, I was half expecting another barren window. And as a plus we have signed someone who is ready now, not just potential.

The big difference between this transfer and Deki is that people who had seen him knew how good he could become and that he wasnt being used correctly at Juve.

Not only that but FP knew him well and Conte had previously wanted him.

I dont know if FP or Conte wants Danjuma. But it absolutely reeks of Levy trying his luck with a try before you buy.

Perhaps that makes sense if Conte wont be here and we need to be careful with permanent transfers.

The others issue for me is that I dont see him being a direct Lucas replacement as Lucas plays off the right and never the left.

Personally think this is a shrewd no risk signing. He’s been off it this season but he had an injury, then there was the WC break and emery is now gone.

19 G/A in 34 for Villareal last season and 24 in 35 for Bournemouth in the championship the season before. There’s a player there and getting him in a new environment could bring out the best in him. In recent years the top players from the championship have integrated into the prem well enough, so the fact that he played so well for Bournemouth the season before excites me.

A year or so ago we were spunking 65 mill on a left winger, who joined Liverpool at the last moment. We were obviously planning for Son's gradual, or possible swift departure. Then Sonny won the golden boot, unfortunately for him it looks as if he is trying too hard to maintain the same level. His touch has vanished, his pace has dropped; he never did a lot of defending, he does less now.

Danjuma scored 6 on the way to the CL semi, he is no mug. I hope this is a Moura replacement, and not the end of our interest in Zan the man We still need Porro and a CB, minimum.

oh agreed, Traore with end product would be a 130 mil player easy. Matchup nightmare, no way to stop him, speed, skill and strength. goodluck but yeah unfortunately for him he has never been able to fully put it together other than rare glimpses here and there

But it’s not just Conte who wants him, it’s our DoF, Paratici is a huge fan of his and has wanted him since at least 2019 when he was at Juve. Fair enough if you don’t think Conte should get who he wants but surely you should get who our DoF picks, especially if both the DoF and the manager agree. I mean he’s brought us in our three best players after Kane. I really don’t understand your argument here.
I guess we have no idea if Conte wants him.

My prediction is that if our form continues to spiral, we'll soon hear from Conte if he wasn't. Another guess is he's another 'compromise' due to the tricky situation the club and Conte are in.

As for Paratici, he also wanted Gattuso and brought us Santo. His ability to shift on players is questionable and although he's brought in some unquestionable quality in Romero, Kulu and Bents, he's also bought in those that haven't cut the mustard.

He's also bent and unlikely to be here beyond the summer.

it seems highly unlikely Conte and FP sat down before the window and with Conte saying “get me Danjuma”.

If he was someone we had identified then why would he have got to the point of doing a medical with Everton before we made a move.

I can’t say I know much about him TBH, but then I didnt know much about Kulu or Bentancur last year either. I do know he is behind Bergwijn in the Netherlands squad though.

My concern is that this seems opportunistic rather than strategic. WE all know where the weaknesses in this squad lie, and so does Conte, Levy and Paratici, and we have known for many months before the transfer window was opened - today is the 25th of January and those weaknesses are still weaknesses.

The issue I have with this signing, isn’t the actual player, but more to do with our current defensive issues rather than attacking problems.

its like having a fiat 500 engine in a roll Royce car, we have goals and a reasonable attacking force but defensively are shocking, I’d like to have seen us strengthen the back 5/6 over increasing attacking players

Not sure about this guy’s character. If it’s true he did his medical, did the media photos etc. it doesn’t sit well that he would pull a Willian. Especially as it is just a 6 month loan with no option/obligation to buy at the end.
Hopefully there is more to it than we have been led to believe.
