We must have given him first team assurances if he’s very keen to join up straight away.

Very excited to see how he does.

Could just be that we're keeping him for now in case Kane is sold. If not he might get loaned. It does feel that Kane will go though and this kid will be competition for Richarlison. Excited to see him if he does stay. That's the only thing with signings like Sarr and Udogie, having to wait a year for their debut.

I reckon we want him now so we can loan him to a european club. Would be better for his development and transition to the prem if he had a season in a competitive european league before coming back next summer.

that fairs although I don’t think the original was tin hat. Levy and Bayern could easily have come to an understanding to downplay the transfer chances for his or own own benefit.
I think this was the most likely scenario. Spread the word he's staying so we don't inflate prices and move into gear.

At the same time word was Harry said take it or leave it by Friday and now seems like it will be announced.

No idea why everyone is assuming we won’t loan him out. Surely that’s possible and would make more sense than loaning back if can push him into a stronger league
Then who will be back up to Richarlison should he get injured? Makes better sense to keep him rather than loan out.

It's not the league that would be a concern - it's whether he goes to a team that suits his (and our) style. He is already in a team that suits his style - so, if we just wanted him to continue developing, staying in Argentina until the end of their season would make the most sense. Then, in January we would have a better sense of teams where he would be able to play right away, and in a style to continue developing.

One more potential wrinkle - It looks like Richarlison is missing training - maybe just a minor issue, but also maybe a reason Veliz is coming here straight away.

I have been scouting a lot in the Brazil u20 market.

However, I got asked to watch a player in the Argentinian U20 league and the intensity was a step up. Some interesting players.

Another interesting factor is clubs are not asking for huge fees as a lot of them need the money.

In comparison, Brazilian clubs are asking for much bigger fees.

It is definitely a market we should be watching very closely.

I am glad we finally appear to be doing so.

That would be my guess. He comes in and is loaned out.

Just from observation to me it seems players from Europe and SA adapt the EPL far quicker now than they use to, even almost straight away

Absolutely.

I think the PL has gotten more similar to Continental football tactically.

At the same time, SA football has become a bit more athletic.

So they have kind of met in the middle. Players like Verón were incredible in highly tactical structures but struggled with the speed of the PL.
