I agree, but for a player to perform that well in the first half of the season and so poorly in the 2nd half, I would struggle to rate them higher than a 6.5.

I just think that Eriksen didn't quite realise how much all the effort he was putting in earlier in the season would effect him later on. He seemed to be the first to really grasp what Poch wanted and I think his efforts to be teachers pet crippled him.

I suspect that both Christian and ourselves will have learned something and utilise him better next season.

Phenomenal season - Kane - stand out player.

Excellent season - Lloris, Rose

Good season - Bentaleb, Eriksen*, Chadli

Decent - Vertonghen, Lamela, Dier, Mason

The rest are in and around average or below.

*Had Eriksen maintained his form/impact throughout the final three months of the season I'd have him in there with Lloris and Rose.

Love this boy to pieces..................Kane
Like these boys quite a lot.............Lloris, Bentaleb,Rose.
Warming to these boys..................Eriksen, Dier, Lamela, Vertonghen.Chadli, Mason(And all the Academy boys that played recently)
Could be persuaded on these.......Vorm, Yedlin, Fazio,
Keeping their numbers handy........Walker,.Stambouli, Davies, Dembele. Paulinho, Soldado
Not my types at all.........................Townsend, Kaboul, Vlad, Capoue
Don't phone me..............................Adebayor.

Eriksen has tailed off lately but has done enough to show he will be our key man next year. His first time pass to Lamela today who set up Kane was the pass of the trip.. First time into the space that Lamela was going to get to eventually. Lovely.
Soldado. I like, he's clearly a gifted player but it hasn't worked out for him at all.
Walker is a sad story but Yedlin who is a Walker clone but with an added brain is showing the way.
Academy boys all showed talent and confidence and no little skill. The future is........

Excellent - Kane, Rose and Bentaleb.

All 3 have had a great season. Kane went off the boil at the end but he's done amazing considering how late he got his chance, and how well he took it. Rose has been our most consistent performer for me, solid throughout the campaign. Bentaleb has shown maturity well beyond his years, and is a very solid player.

Good - Lloris, Dier, Eriksen, Chadli and Vertonghen.

Lloris has been good as always. Dier is starting to really grow and has done well to cover the right back role despite not being natural to it (what a cross he has on him though!). Eriksen and Chadli have had some bad games for us, but they've chipped in with very important goals and assists, so it wouldn't be fair to not incldue them. Vertonghen has been pretty solid too.

I guess these are the only one I feel are worth praising specifically. Mason's done okay, but he's struggled for consistency and is well behind Bentaleb, IMO, despite being older. Lamela has got better in the last couple of months but still some way off. Stambouli we've not seen much of and Fazio has been okay, but had shakey moments whilst getting used to things. Davies has been a mixed bag, some good games and some shit games.

Absolutely madness to say that Eriksen and stambouli should have the same rating.
Keep your hair on pal. Golf scoring as per the OP's original & amusing rating system.

What that means to me is that both performed the season pretty much as I expected them too. On par. Not that they were the same quality. Relativity innit

A wee bit harsh on Vertonghen, a wee bit too easy on Mason.

Based on that, the players are grouped together as follows:
Kane
Lloris, Rose, Bentaleb, Lamela,
Vertonghen
Fazio, Chadli, Eriksen,
Mason,
Walker, Davies,
Kaboul, Chiriches, Capoue, Dembele, Stambouli, Paulinho, Townsend, Lennon, Adebayor, Soldado

Kane, Rose, Dier & Bentaleb all exceeded my expectations.

Lloris & Eriksen as expected.

Chadli, Vertonghen, Lamela, Dembele, Mason & Walker acceptable.

Everyone else replaceable/disappointing.

I was torn with him. He does require improvement but not to the extent that the players I put in that category in my opinion, and he did have a few games when he got a run where I thought he performed brilliantly. I expect more from him next season and you are right, he has developing to do, but I guess I saw a lot that I liked.

Loris would be par but only because he's already set such exellent standards his brilliance is to be expected

Soldado shanked his ball straight in the water and never finished the course let alone a double bogey

Having trouble understanding how people are rating players who hardly ever got on the pitch.
