It’s about precident. If every player with a year left on his deal is allowed to play career chicken and refuse a sale we’re always gonna have to keep average players on long deals to maintain career control. Dier has to be forced to sit for the season or be sold to keep our ability to manipulate our squad on a seasonal basis - it’s negotiating
