I'm not the best scout, I'll profess. I have seen him a couple times at best but each time he impressed me and was the best player on the pitch. Seemed strong on the ball, quick enough, good passer and was happy enough to drive the team forward. That's pretty much all I have, I do know a lot of people rate him quite highly though.

This is the part that frustrates me the most. Since we are interested in him all summer why are we only making a move now? Is it because he hasn't been snapped up by other clubs? Is it because Celta will be more desperate to offload him towards the end of the window? Is it because we failed to get our main targets?

I don't understand the negativity in this thread. We've had ITK that we'd be in for some young talents for the future, and that has seemingly been the case given our widely reported interest in the likes of Sessegnon, Sancho, Foyth and now this kid.
I know we all want signings for the first team, but I for one trust Poch that they are coming. We shouldn't let our impatience lead us to slag off promising young talents that the club may bring in, that's been a very successful model for us over the years.

If so I'd assume it means Dier will mainly act as 3rd CB and backup CB or emergency CM.

I'm happy to pin my colours to the mast, I'd rather continue the model of highly talented individuals from 2-3rd tier clubs, than burden ourselves with the potential of having 3-4 Sissoko type players who upset Rose and others in turn by eclipsing their wages, plus block academy guys.
Sancho, Sessegnon, that CB from Ajax (either actually), plus a couple of highly prized youngsters like this guy, plus Barkley is what I hope we end with (or of this ilk).
Maybe in 3years the club can evolve, but I think this cycle has been virtuous to us and will continue to be so, if Poch agrees to it. He needs young players with low historical injuries given the 'Bring the intensity' mantra.

Probably because ITK has suggrsted 3 RB Ross Barkley and a winger type. This guy isn't that and is in a position that at this time is of less importance than those others

He's only just turned 20 and only played ~500 minutes in La Liga last year, I would assume we were safe in the knowledge that no other clubs were waiting to snap him up and so could wait for the market to die down

I have no real problem with this signing and won't complain if it goes through but just wondering by we loan out one 20 year old(onomah) and then bring in another one?
Also I'd rather spend more money in getting a RB, a CB if wimmer goes and an attacker than spending 25 mil on a 5th choice CM

Is because we have to wait for the big boys to finish their business or they will just outbid us. Either that or the selling club will just invent their interest to push the price up
