To be fair mate, you did the exact same thing in the Richarlison thread.

A complete 180 after we had signed the player.

Either you're making a massive overreaction at the beginning cause you don't like the player, or you are talking yourself into it at over a period of time?
And? People aren't allowed change their minds? If you are going through posts like this I think you need a hobby

Lol. Probably spot on when it comes to overreaction. I don’t like Richy’s personality or diving, and he had just played pretty poorly vs. Arsenal so, yeah.

Then again, surely I’m not the only poster whose opinions have changed over time.

That’s 3 of you now who are stalking my old posts on a Saturday afternoon…
Actually I didn't stalk, I just remembered seeing the positive post of yours about Richy and it made made think that if seen you been negative about it. 5 seconds it took to check.

Lastly, Richarlison only played once versus Arsenal in which he scored 3 times (2 being disallowed) he was injured for the last game.

How can people take your opinion seriously if you flip flop and get facts wrong?

Of course they are.

But if you go from a majorly negative post to quite a positive one in the space of days people aren't going to take you seriously aren't they.

Considering his negative post is normally on the first page of player thread and his positive on the most recent, it doesn't take long to find or realise there is a trend.

It sort of sounds like a similar situation to Kulusevski where he may be best with a wing back on the overlap so he can play inside more. I think with Kulusevski it wasn't that he was poor but more he wasn't a fit for the Juve system. He was highly rated at Parma hence why Juve wanted him. This guy sounds like he's in a similar kind of situation where the Jose system doesn't really fit him best. If Conte thinks he will fit his 343 then I'm all for it. He looks like a natural alternative to Kulusevski but from the videos looks like he can also play on the left as well. That would round our front 3 of nicely with a few versatile options but ultimately 2 players for each position in the front 3. Son, Kane, Kulusevski, Moura, Richarlison, Zaniolo. I like Maddison too but I'm not so sure he's as good a fit for the 343 as Zaniolo. Maybe Maddison is someone we can look at again next summer (if he doesn't sign a new contract) as a replacement for Moura (maybe best to sell with 1 year left on his contract) or Zaniolo (if a loan doesn't work out).

They're not stalking you mate, I've been barely paying attention and the way you post sticks out massively, they're just very extreme takes and I'd caution that approach because as already seen you then have to back track. Plus when these players sign for the club we want to be getting behind them and not wanting to have to worry about whether we were right or wrong because we had such a bombastic reaction to being linked with them.

Are we still linked to him? I just read the whole thread and seems he’s content to stay or go to Juve (doubtful).

I care about this football club immensely, probably too much, I want us to have a squad of truly amazing players who can win us a trophy. We’ve been waiting so long. That’s all.

The reason I stick out is because the majority of posts are basically drone-like “trust Conte and Paratici” posts which completely ignore any sort of objective assessment of a player’s strengths and weaknesses. If you want, I can start doing those from now on and entirely refrain from discussing players who I’ve watched dozens of times.

That would be great, mate. Thx!

All footballers have strengths and weaknesses. But, I trust the team to figure out if they can maximize the strength and minimize the weakness. Certainly more than I can, or really anyone who has seen a player a dozen times or so.

If Paratici and Conte are looking at a player, I do trust they understand those strengths and weaknesses - better than I do. So I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, even knowing they are not infallible.

I'm not negatively judging you mate, I was just being honest that your posts stick out. If you read back what I said, I was trying to explain why posts like that garner the reaction. I've never doubted your passion for the club either, we all spend way too much time on this forum because we're passionate and we all express that in different ways but I can see the way you post is getting you in a few conflicts, like even this post you've gone on the attack of other posters because you think I'm attacking you and I'm not.

You can give your assessment of players, you can say you're concerned about whether they're the right fit, I was concerned that Zaniolo might not be what we need for a balanced squad too because I think we'd really benefit from a player with fantastic set piece ability and passing as I think we have quite a fair few players who provide powerful running. I also made a joke that he's the next Acquilani because of his injury record. Conte wants Zaniolo, a few people have shown what Zaniolo can bring, I can see why he would fit exactly what we want now even if I still am worried about our lack of set pieces. All good with me but nobody is going to quote my posts where I had reservations because I wasn't being so extreme because when people speak in that fashion it looks like they think they know what's best for the club, they speak in a way that puts people off as they make it look like their opinion is fact. I know why it rubs people the wrong way but I also know that way of speaking is because of caring so much that you fear the club is making a choice that will cost us so people then speak extremely negatively when they don't really mean what they're saying, they're just worried. We call that a Yankspurs round here.

It’s not as if the search function on this site isn’t a thing either. It’s so easy and quick to find people’s posts in certain threads. It’s not like you have to spend hours trawling, it takes seconds, and the multi quote function makes things even easier.

You be you. Isn't that what this place is supposed to be about? I wouldn't spend a single second catering to these people.

Well look, if people think my posts are shit, they're shit and that's fine.

I admittedly have gone overboard in a few of my old posts, that much is evident and I wouldn't try to deny it. I just think it's important to do a totally honest assessment of what a player is, maybe I'm too negative but we have incredibly tough challenges in front of us this year. Pretty good won't win us a trophy. Excellence is required. N'Dombele and Lo Celso burnt me in a way that makes me incredibly skeptical of every new signing we make.

So anyways, far too much time wasted on this and I'm sure it's derailed the thread quite a bit. I'll stick to football from now on. Clearly my posting is bothering a lot of people and I'm more than OK being called out on it.

All I'm ever trying to do is promote discussion. anyways, back to Zaniolo...

Don't worry about it. All my posts are shit. Including this.

I assume this only gets done once we get a few out the door? Hopefully we see movement on the outs this coming week.
