Conte believes he has the potential to be one of the very best, he also believes he's been badly mismanaged and used poorly when he's been played. The injuries are a concern and any deal we might do will certainly need to reflect this, and at the moment the financials aren't working. It's all a bit complicated as far as negotiations are concerned. FP is speaking to Roma, and his agent was at HW yesterday. We think there is a deal to be done(and we'd certainly like to) but what that deal will look like I'm not sure. I don't see at this stage Madison happening but I think this one has a better than average chance IMO.

Looks utter pony, complete waste of a non homegrown. Maybe stop looking in Italy ffs. Literally looks to have no appealing abilities as far as watching every video on line.
I’m glad you’re at least trying to support the signing of him by making sure your ratings bar looks like his national flag ?

Loads of people seem to have seen him play by looks of it…

Never seen him play but I’m questioning why we are buying a permanently injured player especially when we have enough cash in the bank to buy an alternative

Permenantly injured? He played 42 games last season.

I wouldn't say I'm necessarily for this signing, but lets not start spouting rubbish.

My son says he is a baller, so I'm guessing he is good on fifa.

As for my opinion I don't really have any, I can't say I have seen him but as many have said I am going to trust AC and FP on this one, great business has already been done this window so a loan with an option can't hurt.

It seems Conte's already proven ability to improve players is being widely overlooked. There's also something else that i've not seen mentioned and this is concerning players we sign in general.

He said "Usually you have to buy players to reinforce your team, but if you send away on loan players who you bought in the last two or three years it means something went wrong in the past"

Earlier and not long after he arrived (and I paraphrase here) he said something along the lines of we need to be signing the right players to fit what the club require in order to improve where as before we would sign players who may have had good reputations but might not fit how we want to play. See above for the result of that.

I'm looking forward to the coming season. Not every player will hit the ground running and not every player will be a roaring success, but it's a process, it ain't going to all happen overnight. Bring it on.

I’m amazed we are doing as much we have done. I have always said I’d be amazed if it didn’t take 2 summer windows to get the team where he wants it. Kudos to them for doing it so quickly already.

I really hope this happens. I think he could be a real sensation.

Even if Ndombele doesn't want to go to Roma, I'm sure Jose likes Lo Celso as well so hopefully he's part of conversations to make the deal happen.

Yeah, the first sentence is key. AC/FB have earned a high degree of trust from most of us but, in this case, the gap between what we see and what they apparently see is bigger than with our other signings. If they're right, risk-reward could be sky high. Sure the deal structure will mitigate risk too. No way we're gonna do a simple big bucks transfer.

I think his potential success is directly linked to how effective his rehabilitation is - I know he played plenty of games last year, but (and the caveat obviously being I've only ever seen the guy on youtube) he looks heavier and slower than he did when he burst onto the scene a few years back.

I see it as follows:

(A) If:
- the fitness gurus can work with him and get his acceleration and mobility back to what it was
- he can stay fit

(B) ...then if Conte believes he can turn him into a star, then I'm sure he can.

In my ignorance, I would guess (and this is where my concern lies) that there's a lot more uncertainty and risk relating to (A) than there is to (B).

In fact, even when you account for moving to a new league/country etc., I doubt anyone on here would strongly question (B). But it's perfectly valid to have concerns re: (A), even on a very limited amount of knowledge of due diligence.

He missed four league games last season through injury. One for his Hip flexor 2 for separate muscle issues and one through illness. This permanently injured tag is bollocks. He's had a long term absence previously due to ACL problems just like Virgil Van Dijk has. I doubt anyone would be shouting don't sign VVD if we put 100mil down on the table due to an injury he had 2 years ago.

It's a concern yes but that would be taken into account.

A very interesting video from a Dr Rajpat Brar (Sport Physio expert) with regard to Zaniolo injuries and fitness post his 2nd ACL.

Some of this risks and long term repercussions are frightening.

Interesting that he was rushed back after his first ACL which put him at a massive risk of a 2nd ACL which subsequently happened.

He’s now at a long term risk of stiffness, swelling, re-injury and other muscle or fatigue issues throughout his body.

The only way this works is if we do a loan deal with an option so we can see how his body copes with the intensity of the PL and whether he can adapt to the league.

Having 2 ACL injuries by the age of 23 make him a monumental risk in terms of injury. We have to mitigate that risk by doing a loan with option, preferably a 2 year loan allowing us time to see if he breaks down again.

Think he looks a really talented player, seems to be able to handle himself and shrug off challenges, good left foot, seems to be a good finisher, and can really strike a ball…. I’m in ??‍♂️

He says in 2 years it should be back to normal. (It's been almost 2 years and the video is over a year old.) Also talks about a phobia of playing and injuring it again which, while this happens with some people, hasn't happened to Zaniolo as he's just played 42 games.

At the right price I think I'd take the risk, but a paid two year loan with an option at the end sounds like a good compromise.
